RE: Steemit Crypto Academy | Season 2: Week5-- Bandwidth & Energy(Tron) Post by @sapwood // Homework done by @xkool24

Thank you for attending the lecture in Steemit-Crypto-Academy- Season 2 & doing the homework task-5.

Note:
Value of transaction was 2TX
Minting 0.256519 USDT

Correction-- You did not mint USDT in this case, rather you swapped 2 TRX into USDT in JustSwap and as a result you got 0.256 USDT.

But should incase Bandwidth and Energy generated from TRX-Freeze isn't enough we are meant to freeze more TRX or else out TRX would be burn to generate more bandwidth and Energy.

In general, users don't have any issue with Bandwidth, because with the available free bandwidth they can easily make 15 transactions for free every day. But Energy consumption is enormous when you call a smart contract and it varies from one smart contract to the other and it also depends on the type of function.

So to avoid TRX being burn to accommodate Energy you should freeze TRX or you should lease Energy from TronLending(however, it also depends on liquidity in TronLending).

From the Transaction done on both Just Lend and JustSwap Dapps, it is obvious that we have higher Energy consumed in the JUST LEND than in the Just Swap but a lesser Bandwidth consumed in the JustLend than in the Just Swap.

That's correct. But it also depends on the type of function. If you compare all types of function-- mint, transfer, borrow, swap, etc then evidently, the borrow function consumes the highest energy among these four types of function. In other words, it takes more time to execute in VM.

Explore Tronscan(check your own wallet) to identify an "ordinary transfer" & a "Smart-contract-operated transfer"? Indicate the difference between the two?

  • Go to Tronscan
  • Select Transactions
  • Then select the transaction types as Smart contract trigger.
  • It will sort all the smart contract triggers

Suggestions/Feedback

  • The author has produced real transactions to demonstrate the consumption of Bandwidth & Energy.
  • The author has included all the relevant screenshots required for this task. The author has compared the consumption of Bandwidth & Energy for borrow & swap function respectively.
  • One round of proof-reading is still required.
  • Emphasize the text and/or sub-parts of the Task

Thank you.

Homework Task -5 accomplished.
