WHAT'S TOKEN AND GIVE FIVE EXAMPLES OF TOKENS AND IDENTIFY THE BLOCKCHAIN NETWORK, THEY ARE BUILT ON

Although it can be used interchangeably with coin, Token are digital assets defined by Crypto related projects/smart contracts and built on a specific blockchain network. It can be used for investment, to store value or to make a purchase.

Token holders have a stake in the project and can be involved in the decision-making process. Tokens are presale in ICO/IDO for fundraising purposes to further development of the project and can also be purchased like any native cryptocurrency of the Blockchain which is Coin.

Token plays a major role in the Crypto related projects because it can acts as a gas/transaction fee thereby facilitates the aim/goals of the project. Token keeps the ecosystem effective and efficient. Investment/acquiring of the token helps the growth of the assets of the project and further development of the project.

Token don't have their blockchain but are created on other existing blockchain. Most preferably blockchain network is Ethereum because of it's decentralized nature and the functionality of smart contracts upon them. Token also can be categoried based on the Blockchain networks build on. Most prominent types are BEP-20, TRC-20, ERC-20 etc.

There are many Crypto assets found in the world of cryptocurrency. They are tradable and can be used for investment purposes. They can be purchased and used as transaction fees too. Most common type of digital assets and can be used for tradable purposes are

Tokens can be used in multiple ways. Some of these token used for particular function can be categoried into:

UTILITY TOKEN

These are Tokens designed for the further development of the project. They are mostly sold at the ICO/IDO event to raise fund for the project. Also they are later used to access the services/products of that protocols/projects. Without such token, the services/products of that protocols can't be accessible. SECURITY TOKEN

Token on this category are used as investment securities. They can be offer in Security Token Offering (STO) event which is a public offering event where those digital securities are sold mostly on Exchange platforms. They can be tradable with real finances assets like equities and fixed income. They can be used cryptographically as ledger to store and validate token transactions. They are regulated to avoid irregularities and scams. Some countries like Singapore and Japan have a backed Security Token Offering/Exchange.

EQUITY TOKEN

Tokens on this category are purchased or gotten by investors to become a part/shareholders of the project. Becoming a part/shareholders of the project gave them the voting rights/governance over the project. They are given a part ownership of the project and foresee the growth of the project for their dividends.

NON FUNGIBLE TOKEN (NFT)

They are digital assets whose ownership can't be altered as they can be tracked on the Blockchain to ascertain the proof of ownership. They are unique and can be stored on the Blockchain ledger where they are used to represent several intelligent properties like music, art, pictures, video and other digital files.

The ownership of NFTs are verified and they are tradable as their market value have tripled recently.

AXIE INFINITY TOKEN

AXIE INFINITY is a blockchain related Trading and Battle gaming project designed on Ethereum blockchain ecosystem. In this protocol/project, there are tokenized creatures known as Axies which can be collected, breed, raise and battled.

AXIE Infinity Shards( AXS) are ERC-20 token issued on this project which serves as governance/equity token. It's holder is given a part ownership of the project and claim rewards from playing the games, staking their token, engaging in decision-making process etc.
