Greetings friend, I commend your effort in making this educative entry on the slashing mechanism. Indeed it is a very good way of punishing users with malicious acts on the blockchain and if executed to perfection where innocent users wont suffer loss, I believe it will be a very good mechanism to adopt, but another drawback is that it is only for the Proof-of-Stake mechanism so far as it is the Stakes that are being slashed.
