Hello dear students and professors. Here is my homework post for the first task of fixed introductory courses.

What is TronLink and what is Tronscan? What are its uses?
Tronlink was created by Tayler King. It can be seen as the portal to the Tron ecosystem. It is also the main wallet for the Tron ecosystem. Moreover, it is a web 3.0 wallet; meaning that it permits easy access with different decentralized applications. For easy accessibility, it has different variants like the Chrome extension, iOS, Android, Huawei, etc.
All Tron tokens are supported on Tronlink including TRC-10 tokens, TRC-20 tokens, and TRX tokens (the native tokens of the Tron blockchain).
Tronlink has the following uses:
- It allows you to access all dApps which are fueled by Tron or integrated with its blockchain.
- It enables users to store their Tron tokens securely.
- It allows you to transfer and also receive funds.
- It is used to swap digital tokens supported by Tronlink.
- It allows you to add or remove digital tokens.
- It allows its users to view the exchange rates markets of supported tokens.
- You can freeze or unfreeze tokens here.
- You can also vote for block validators.
Created by Justin Sun, Tronscan is the blockchain explorer for the Tron ecosystem. That is, it contains all information about transactions that have been made, those that have been verified, and all the blocks. Thus it holds all the information about the blockchain and allows one to browse through this information with ease.
Tronscan is used for the following;
- It allows you to create or import a wallet, where you can easily check and manage your tokens.
- It is used to facilitate voting for super representatives i.e block validators.
- It is used to explore previous blocks on the blockchain.
- You can use it to verify transactions.
- It has all the information about the number of blocks on the blockchain, block producing time, all the verified transactions in one block of your choice, etc.
- It allows you to exchange other Tron tokens for TRX.
How do you verify a transaction status(including timestamp, resource consumption(bandwidth & energy), nos of confirmations) using Tronscan-- Examples, Screenshot?
To verify a transaction status using Tronscan, one can observe the following steps.
a) Step 1: Go to https://tronscan.org/
b) Step 2: On the search bar, paste the transaction you want to verify. Then take enter to run the search. Everything you need to see will be displayed.
For practicals, when I got the Tronscan homepage, I rather searched my steemit Tron address.
When it loaded, I took the transactions option. When the page loaded below, I clicked on my most recent transaction hash.
This now loaded to a new page with all the details about it.
The top mini page gives you details about the transaction such as:
- Hash: It is like the identity of the transaction.
- Result: It was a success.
- Status: It was confirmed by over 200 blocks.
- Confirmed SRs: 19 of the Tron super representatives confirmed the transaction.
- Block: You can see the block in which it is stored in.
- Time: Here you have the exact date and time that the transaction took place.
Below this overview, we have another small page with the following transfer details:
- From: This is the address of the sender
- To: This is the address of the recipient
- Amount: This is the amount of tokens received
- Note: This is a brief explantion on the reason for the transfer.
- Consume bandwidth: It shows the amount of bandwidth that was consumed to fuel the transaction.
What are the different dApps you can explore using the TronLink wallet?
TronLink allows you to access several dApps ranging from games to decentralized exchanges and others from its site. Some of these dApps include;
- SUN
- JUST
- Tronscan
- JustSwap
- zkWrapper
- JustLend
- Chainz Arena
- BLOCKLORDS
- Blockchain Cuties
Make a transaction(a micro-transaction) with Justswap or JustLend using TronLink wallet?Screenshot?
So for this task, I used the JustSwap dApp.
I entered my TronLink wallet and entered the JustSwap app from their list of dApps.
I then selected the "swap" option. After that, I inputted the amount of TRX I wanted to swap which was 5 TRX. I also selected the token I wanted in exchange which was USDT.
A pop up page then appeared for me to confirm the swap.
When I confirmed it, another pop up came for me to authorize the transaction.
I did so and inputted my password to finalise everything and I had a notification on the status which was completed. I had swapped 5 TRX for 0.422 USDT.
NB: All JustSwap screenshots were gotten from https://justswap.link/?lang=en-US#/home?utm_source=tronlink
Conclusion
I know the two main sites in the Tron ecosystem i.e the wallet and the block explorer. I know their functions and how to use them. Also, from doing the practical part of it, I can now use both sites with relatively ease.
Thank you for reading.
