Steemit Crypto Academy Contest / S9W6 - Voting and Curation In Steem Blockchain
We are here in engagement challenge of season 9 and week 6.Many friends are familiar of the main difference between voting and curating but some are also confused that either these are same or different terminologies so let's discuss and solve this confusion.

Steemit is a social media platform by which you can earn steem tokens. There are two actions at steemit users and these are voting and curating. These are different terms so let's have a look on the very major differences among both these terms.

Both actions are integral part of steem ecosystem because both actions are important for the interaction between users as well as important for the encouragement of users in the form of votes and encouragement of users in the form of sharing their quality content with others by increase of curation.
When a normal person for example me if giving an upvote to another post then it means that I am appreciating the content of that person as well as I am approving the quality content which he created so it will be a positive thing and if a person downvote then person who downvotes means disapprove or dislike the post.So upvote increase the popularity of a post and downvote decrease the popularity of a post.
Curation is very important and is done by curators when the fulfill their responsibility and seek for best content and top quality content for curation. Curator when find out deserving post then give it popularity and more visibility on other's post by giving them some rewards in the form of steems.

Hence voting is an action of giving popularity or unpopularity to a post by upvote and downvote respectively and Curation is an action for seeking of most deserving people and then rewarding them through curation.
Not at all, reward will be shared in a different way so let me elaborate it completely that how it will be!
If we are voting a quality content before five minutes or after 6 days 12 hours of the age of post at steemit Blockchain then it is truly you can say that reward will not be same like a post in which you have vote in an optimal period.When a post gets an upvote before getting it's 5 minutes older then rewards will be distributed among the author and curator.Similarly when a post gets upvote after 6 days and 12 hours then amount of reward that person receive will be very little.
There can be some very simple steps that a user can follow for checking his rewards pool so let's have a look that how a normal person can check rewards of his post.
• You would use at all for checking the rewards of your post and by clicking Here you can move on that too which is steemworld that have information regarding all the activities of a users account.
• Method to check the reward of a particular post of a user is very easy and for this purpose you just have to enter the URL of a particular post and search on the search bar and there will be a lot of information page will open in front of you.
• At the very bottom of that page you will see an option of reward and then you have to click it so now you would see that there are two options.1 is to check the author reward and one is to check the curation rewards so click on any one of them which you want to see as I have also taken screenshots from my steemworld.

For receiving a hundred percent curation reward a curator must be very sensible because he should choose the post for curation which is not curated by anyone yet but there is a chance to be very popular before the expiration of this post so curator have to choose that post for curation so in this way a curator can easily earn more than hundred percent of curation rewards and now move towards more elaboration.
I want to relate curator reward with his curation so as you all know that the post is curated on the base of high quality content so if curator votes on quality content then that post will seek more attention of other users and there will be more enhanced chances of receiving more upvotes and in return more chances of a curator to receive 100% curation vote.
Let's take an example!
Suppose today when I get up then I was seeking for quality content and I have three most attractive posts with high quality content so I selected one of them for my curation and at the time of my Curation the value of that post was equals to $5 but after my vote and after 3 days the value of that post was $50 so when value of the post word 5 dollar then I was able to receive curation rewards but now when the value of his post is equal to $50 then I am able to receive more than 100% upvote and I would receive now 200% upvote equals to $10.
So a curator should vote a post with honesty because if he selects the quality content then there will be more chances for the promotion of that content in the form of voting as Steemit is very decentralized.
Role of curation is very crucial and integral in the discovery of quality content at Blockchain.Cration is important for bringing the attention of users and for attracting the users towards quality content.Curation is very important because it's a source of encouragement also for all those users who are creating the quality content. When there will be curation on the basis of post quality and content quality then there will be more decentralization considered at blockchain so it also provides security in a way to Blockchain and maintain good ecosystem at steemit Blockchain.
Self voting is not at all beneficial for reward system of steemit because when a person self vote then opportunities reduces for others who are creating quality content to have vote and it is very detrimental for steemit. I consider it an illegal way to grow account itself because when you both continuously then it means that you are increasing the worth of your own post and in this way you just be very focus on your account and forget others who are deserving for receiving votes for its spoils the decentralisation of a platform so it's not at all beneficial to self vote to yourself.

First of all I want to say thanks for sharing the very informative article with us on the topic of voting and curation in the first question you have clearly explain the with full details about the voting and curation in your own words.
And you give the example of voting percentage in very simple way and give the guidelines to receive the 100% upvote value from the any curation rewards.
But it's very better if you give the example with proper formula and calculating curation rewards but you have done very great job to explain this topic.
I really like that you have explained about the auto voting and it's harmful affects on steemit blockchain I have already said that you need to more analysis and search to make this topic better.
