In today's world, technology have evolved to a greater standard where human privacy is reserved. Before now human were used to centralized technologies that deprives them of their everyday privacy, this platforms are governed by Organisations which the users identity protection id not quaranteed.

Decentralized applications came as a result of the blockchain and the increasing demand for crypto currencies, it has a high level of security, high speed of transaction and its easy accessible and manageable. Blockchain works under decentralized system of technology where by the users are granted direct access to their assets through using a smartphone device, computer, or Tablets without another having access to their account.

Decentralized applications has an undeviating interrelation between friends or unknown persons using the P2P system of operation.

In block chain, records that are confirmed can't be altered in the smart contract system used, it is therefore advised that the users are aware of how the transactions work so as to avoid errors leading to loss of assets.

The Decentralized apps allows high speed of transactions and also a reductions of fees, it means that transactions can be done at ease and at a high speed withing few minutes as compared to other centralized platforms.

Types Of dApps

We have 3 different types of dApps as listed below.

  • 1. Type I
    The first type of dApps are known for creating their own digital tokens for transactions payments. They have their same name in their blockchain. The Cardano is a good example of the Type I dApps as they are used mainly in monetary systems.

  • Type II
    This is found within the Type I blockchain carried out in the monetary sector and uses tokens generated as payment means during transactions.

  • Type III
    The type III dApps acts from the Type I & II dApps assigned to becoming a greater advantage and efficacy to its users. An example of such is the everyday used social media that has become part of every mans life.

Certain Characteristics of dApps

  • Decentralized operating system: Dapps are not managed neither controlled by any individual body, its created as an independent body and based on smart contracts in blockchain.

  • Security Agreements: This quality is the most important and respected, dApps embraces highest level of security of the chain of blocks.

  • Easy connectivity between Other dApps: since they have almost everything in common based on their way of operating, they can be connected from different blockchains.

  • Quick Error Detection: In decentralization, each user is node so if there is any transaction error or transaction failure, the copy that is error free in the other nodes will still remain undamaged. therefore there is no risk or damage attached in the dApp network.

The use of smart contracts of the blockchain makes the dApps safe and reliable with a low transaction fees attached, each nodes stores data of every new transaction (time and date), generating a new block which is validated by the other user with the hash and backs up the initial block. interconnectivity of all nodes brings about the high level of security.

There is no Guiding body or authority governing transactions operations as everyone has authority over their transactions. Each nodes has a responsibility over its operations.

  • It has a censorship resistance which means it has no constitution authority managing the dApp. Government or individual body can not control the dApp.
  • It has a P2P system of operation
  • It uses smart contracts which makes transactions fast and cost effective.

Disadvantages of dApps

  • It is easily attacked by hackers as many dApps run on a open source smart contract.
  • poor versatility is a problem that is still developed. This means that many dApps can not easily accessed.
  • since dApps are new age technology, most of them face challenges of low users which makes them have less number of users.
