We meet again on homework for the 2nd week of Steemit Crypto Academy. This time I will make a post for the homework of @awesononso. The task this time is to answer several questions that have been given by the professor about The Genesis Block.

What is the Genesis Block of a Blockchain

If we look at the meaning of the word Genesis, we will find that the word means the beginning which means the beginning of something that has existed until now. Similarly, the genesis block, the genesis block is the starting block in a blockchain system. As we know that blockchain is a series of blocks that are connected to each other, and the first block that connects all other blocks is the genesis block.

The genesis block is the initial data that has been successfully recorded on the blockchain and the data it generates will continue to be transferred to other blocks as guide data for all blocks in the blockchain network system. This genesis block code is often referred to as the number 0 which means it is the ancestor of all existing blocks. However, over time the naming of this genesis block changed to the number 1 which means it is "the first". Actually this naming is not so important because even though the names are different, the basic concept will be the same.

Write on the Bitcoin Genesis Block and its significance

The Genesis Block that was first created was from the Bitcoin blockchain, this block was created/designed by someone whose identity is unknown until now but he has a nickname as Satoshi Nakamoto.

If you look at the image below, you can see that the block is numbered 0 which means the block you are seeing is the genesis block or the first block created on the Bitcoin blockchain network. The block was created on January 4, 2009 with the Hash code:

If we scroll down, we will be shown the results of the mining block of 50 BTC sent to a wallet with the address:

When we check the details of the wallet address, we are shown that the wallet already has an amount of Bitcoin of approximately 68.4 BTC with a total transaction of 2,945. But the wallet never sends anything to any other wallet which means the mining results on the genesis block are never used. Many people have speculated that the wallet belongs to the creator of Bitcoin, often known as Satoshi Nakamoto.

With the presence of the bitcoin genesis block, it has made several significant changes in the blockchain world, including:

• Be a role model for a block genesis of all other blockchains.

• Indicates the presence of a new system in the digital world and world finance which has a very high revolutionary level.

• With the presence of the bitcoin genesis block, the process of making blocks after becomes more focused and easy to create.

• Increase people's trust in the blockchain system.

Go to https://steemworld.org and locate the Steem Genesis Block (You must provide screenshots and sign in as proof of completion)

When you visit the page from SteemWorld then you will be shown the start page as shown below, then this time I will first sign this on this website by pressing the button on the top right.

Then I entered the username and private posting key.

And we can see in the upper right corner that my account has been successfully logged in.

Then to find the block we want, we just select the Block Explorer option.

We fill in the block number that we want to find, because I want to find data about the Steem genesis block so I put the number 1.

And we can see that the first block created was mined by the initminer on March 24, 2016 with the block id:

Conclusion

Block Genesis is a block that was first created in a blockchain network. This block will be a reference for other blocks in running the blockchain network system so that it can always run smoothly and there are no obstacles. With the presence of block genesis, it marks the birth of a blockchain network system.
