Introduction

I will be comparing the EOS blockchain to Stellar blockchain platforms in the few paragraphs below:

EOS is a blockchain protocol with decentralized system that enables the development, hosting, and launching of commercial-scale decentralized applications on its platform. It supports all neccessary core attribute like (security, efficient communication between dapps and the web, data hosting and usage management)to allow organisations and individuals to create blockchain-based applications in a way similar to the web based applications. There is no full name for EOS and the cryptocurrency used is known as EOS coin.

EOS consist of two key element which are EOS.io and the EOS token, EOS.IO is the operating system of the eos, it is responsible for the management and controls of the blockchain network. It uses blockchain protocol that is built to enable upward and downward scaling of decentralized applications. A users does not spend the EOS coins, instead he or she use it to gain access to the network resources and to build and run dApps. It is like an entry ticket to eos platform and a token holder who is not running any dapps can also give out or rent his or her token to other participants who need it.

Stellar, Stellar is a payment technology system that connects financial institutions to transfer money within and outside country country faster and drastically reduce time needed for cross-border payment. It was created by jed McCaleb of the stellar foundation and it native currency is known as the lumen or XLM.

It uses a network of decentralized servers with a distributed blockchain that is changed every 2 to 5 seconds among all nodes, it does not uses a miner network to approve transactions like bitcoin instead it uses the uses the Federated Byzantine Agreement algorithm. Threat allowing it to process transactions faster.

Similarities between the EOS and stellar

Faster transaction: both stellar and EOS ensures a quicker transaction, eos can handle and complete a transaction within 3 seconds without making any error also the stellar coin offers similar service, it completes transaction in less time than the traditional banking system.

EOS and stellar allows users to enjoy a cheaper transaction fee: high transaction cost is one of traditional banking system and with the introduction of cryptocurrency, EOS and stellar platform allows users to transact with very little charges associated with payment transfer and the tokens that is EOS coin and lumen are acceptable medium of payment in the world, many companies accept them when trading.

Lastly is decentralization: decentralization is plays a pivot role in crypto currency, it makes the currency more secured and safe from external involvement. Only parties involved can have access to a transaction and no intermediary can interfere. So EOS and stellar platfrom are decentralized.

Differences between stellar and EOS

Market capitalization: the market capitalization is like the price or worth of a stock but in this case it is cryptocurrency not stock. The EOS worth more than the stellar. Currently EOS is the fifth placed cryptocurrency with a market value of over $9 billion and it is sold at $11 per unit while stellar is worth $4 billion and it is the 7th largest cryptocurrency.

Purpose or mission: the stellar platform was created majorly to solve a problem which is to enhance the international transactions process, it was made majorly to ensure quicker payment service between institution and people while EOS aim is to make the crypto universe cheaper, more efficient and quicker while providing a blockchain based operating system that can support real-time applications of any type.
