Steemit Crypto Academy Season3:Week2 Homework Post for @Pelon53.
I want to welcome everyone to my post and warmest welcome to professor @pelon53.
Today I will be writing on the below questions...
1) Explain what does the resistance to collision mean? And what does resistance to preimage mean?
Resistance to collision : is a property of cryptography hash functions that makes it difficult to find two different inputs/messages that hash the same output, that is two inputs b and c, where b is not equal to c but h(b)=h(c).
Resistance to preimage: In resistance to preimage if original messages are converted into hash it should be difficult to find the original messages when the hash is been given( that is it should be difficult to convert the hash back to the original message), also with the original message and its hash given it should be impossible to find another different message with the same hash.
2) Use tronscan and etherscan to verify the hash of the last block and the hash of that transaction. Screenshot is required for checking.
ETHERSCAN
step 1 log into etherscan.io
step 2 move to the block and transaction section
click 12777879 which is the ID of the last block to bring about information of the block such as block height, timestamp, block reward, time stamp etc.
Go back and scroll to the (click to see more section )and click it
The hash of the last block is been displayed here.
VERIFYING HASH OF THE LAST TRANSACTION.
ON THE BLOCK PAGE SECTION CLICK ON TRANSACTION.
Then click on the last transaction seen, scrolling down this appeared as the hash of the transaction.
USING TRONSCAN
step1 log into tronscan.org.
scrolling to blocks/transaction section where we see 31718039 as the ID of the last block.
Clicking on the block ID we see the hash of the last block.
clicking on the hash of the last block we see the hash of the last transaction
3) Generating hash using the link given from the word CryptoAcademy and cryptoacademy. Screenshot required. Do you see any difference between the two words? Explain.
YES, there is difference between the two words because the latter is only made up of lower-case letters and the former has two uppercase letters within it, these difference in the inputted words brought about different hash codes.
4) Difference between hash and cryptography.
a) Hashing transforms data into a shorter fix length while that of cryptography varies while transforming data there is no fix length for cryptography.
For example, if you hash a single word and an entire novel all their data will turned out to be the same fixed length of hash code.
b) Cryptography can be decrypted to get original information back that is cryptography is reversible but in hashing when information is converted into a hash code cannot be reversed back.
c)Examples of hashing includes MD5, SHA256, RIPMEND While example of cryptography includes RSA, AES, PGP.
Conclusion
With hashing our data is safe and secure and a little twist in the input produces different hash.
Gracias por participar en Steemit Crypto Academy Season 3:
Espero seguir leyendo tus publicaciones.
Kk..I will improve on my conclusions.
