Home work:

"1. Write the definition of Decentralized and Centralized Social Media Platforms in your own words.Explain in your own words the difference between decentralization and centralization Social Media Platforms (answer should related Social Media Platforms ."

On the 8th of January 2021, Donald J Trump with user name @realDonaldTrump had his twitter account suspended due to his political views which were considered inappropriate and misleading on the social media plaform.
The president of the United States of America “shut up” on a social media platform from erring his views.

On April 30th 2014, Superstar singer, songwriter Rihanna was shortly banned from Facebook’s owned social media platform Instagram on account of nudity, a half naked picture of her backside on the platform.
Currently Rihanna has over 9.3 million followers on the platform, meaning 95.3 million people could again be stopped from viewing and listening to a person some of them would even call mentor due to ban from the government of the platform.

Many more have been banned from these centralized social media platforms because the power to create posts on these platforms is governed by the company owning such platforms.

But are these right? Should people be cut short from erring their views on social media? Is there a better way around social media? Should social media be rather Decentralized?

I will be comparing the Decentralized and Centralized social media with the streets and the classroom.

Decentralized social media which is basically non controlled by one body or company, a decentralized social media lets for everyone to express him or herself as he wishes. Juse like in the streets, one can say what he wants to, because no body really monitors what you say as we all have the right to speech. You can only be given thumbs down, or down votes to demoralize people from viewing our posts.

Centralized social media on the other hand tell people “Yeah you can post really what ever you want to post”, but they regulate the content posted on these media platform. This which sometimes seems necessary to avoid using the platform as a channel to promote violence, nidity, hamful political views etc, but at the end of the day it is still shutting people up from erring their views.

Centralized social media which now seems like a classroom though usually make registration easier and give easy to remember password.

Examples of these types of Social Media.

DECENTRALIZED:

  • Steemit
  • Hive

CENTRALIZED:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Instagram

”2. Which One is The Future of Social media ? Decentralized or centralized Social media.”

“Man is free but always in chains” were the words of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. But Albert Camus says, “Freedom is nothing but a chance to be better.” man always wants to feel free, I guess that is one of the reasons we are man, to feel free, not tamed.
We should all have the right to speech, especially when it comes to social media.
Yes cautioning and regulations are ephemeral to man and living, but I guess people should also have the obligation of either viewing negative content or focusing on positive content.

I think the Decentralized social media is the future of the social media since banning of individuals no longer take place, yes the content may be flagged for vices but banning and not allowing to post, I think everyone has the right to do so.

”3. How steemit decentralization social media is best than Twitter and Facebook”

First of all I must tell, since I started using steemit, I uninstalled my twitter and facebook app, they were taking unnecessary space and not helping me in any financial way.
Steemit promotes content creation which yields profit.
Steemit also makes me better writer daily instead of just posting random pictures online waiting for non-valuable likes.

Secondly, weekly I notice more of my friends’ facebook has been hacked, name changed and profile picture changed. This has become a recurring decimal and shows how the security system of facebook is really weak and needs to be upgraded.

Steemit on the other hand has pseodorandom keys which can hardly be hacked unless you share them with someone, or click on phising links.

Thirdly, As I introduced this topic, twitter more particularly has been very known for banning accounts, facebook’s Instagram also is very good at banning accounts. Sometimes these account owners must have toiled gaining followers and trying to build an influence, but within minutes they can be blocked and have to re-start from scratch or not even be able to use the channel again.

This is not fair, it shouldn’t be so, man blocked from erring his views, maybe decentralized exchange is the answer and Steemit is already answering that.

”4. What do you say? How do Steemit social media change the lives of millions of its users?”

Content creation and earning from it has always been a thing of the elites and those few chosen from the lower class to the elite class. But the world is opening and creators are beginning to connect directly with content consumers and creditors.
Steemit has created a platform where people from any part of the world can create content of quality and be seen and upvoted for such wonderful works.

Now let us take for example a teenage girl in the Democratic repulic of Congo. With a country currency of 1 dollar equal to about 2 thousand Congolese franc, if she is able to get her self even a 3G smart phone at cheap cost and is able to write good content, maybe even an achievement 1 post that talks about her culture and heritage while also introducing her self. Then she gets a 30 steem dollars upvote, converting this to congolese franc, we use the current exchange rate of a steem being equal to a 0.88 dollars. And one steem backed dollar equal to 6.5 steem. So 30 steem dollars upvote brings 7.5 Steem Backed Dollars, which is equal to 48 steem coins, which is equal to 43 dollars, which is now equal to 86 thousand congolese franc.
The daily minimum amount for food per person in Congo is $17 gotten from Numbeo.com.

Our girl can now afford food say 3 days in her country from just her mobile phone and acccess to internet connection. Is that not wonderful.

From the above study we see steemit can really help people/content creators make a living while writing, drawing or taking beautiful pictures.

”5. How can we make money with Steemit's decentralized social media.(write your own experience)”

Steemit built by Ned Scott and Dan Larimer, works on the Proof of Brain concept, under the Delegated proof of stake.

This which has four parties:

  • Steem witness: These are the participants involved in block creation. They are selected and must be 20 + 1 in number. The witnesses gain 10% of every steem created.
  • Steem Power holders: The steem power holders make 15% of every steem token created because ot their stake on the blockchain.
  • Steem Content Creators: The steem content creators are the life of the platform, they create quality content which is upvoted and they earn steem dollars (which can be converted steem and then to fiat currency on crypto exchanges).
  • Steem curators: These are the steempower holders who are active with their steem power by upvoting quality contents, they get curation rewards in steem power which can be powered down for steem and sold on exchanges for fiat money.

From my own experience since I joined the steemit platform I have not only been motivated and become a better writer, I have also gained so much financial benefits.
For example when I wrote my achievement 2 post I got some upvotes and my motivation increased.
I joined the crypto academy and it has been like a job to me now. I write, learn, read and most earn.

The steem crypto academy is a very lucrative community on steemit for crypto enthusiasts, I encourage crypto enthusiast to join and learn while they earn.

Conclusion

Centralized social media which is more common has shown to be a governing social media, and its users can be banned at any time, the platforms are also usually not very secure.
Decentralized social media is becoming very famous and the new way to express ones self, no fear of being banned just any time and also a very secure platform.
