Hello everyone I hope you are all ok and enjoy the good life by the grace of Allah Almighty I am here for participate in the amazing engagement challenge which organised by the SteemitCryptoAcademy the name of this challenge is Voting and Curation In Steem Blockchain so let's start;
Explain in your own words what voting and curating mean for content in Steem, do they mean the same thing? Show the difference between the two terms. |

Voting and Curation are usually considered as the same terms but there is a slight difference between them , Although it is relatively the same thing.So now I will separately discuss both terms.
When we vote on any content or blog posts on the Steemit blockchain we just express our overall opinion or preference. If we like a post, we can upvote it which increases its value and also the potential payout for the author.
In return for our vote, we also receive a curation reward from the prize pool. Conversely if we dislike a post we can also downvote it.This is simply that voting means that we have to just give our prefrence to any post.
The value or worth of our vote depends upon the Steam Power we have which is actually the reflection of our influence or reputation on the platform.Voting has many benefits such as by voting we can got more curation rewards, encourage the users that are producing the quality content by giving our opinion etc.
Curation is also the term of voting but it also includes the proper evaluation of post that the content that is original and also fulfilling all the rules of the community should be supported or curated.
Curating with the maintainance of requirements helps the blockchain to grow more and be more original. Mostly we see that the curators that have more Steem power evaluate the quality of the post first and then vote it accordingly this is what we called as real Curation.
Proper curation is very important to build a growing community or blockchain.There are some terms that we should fulfill before curation that I will discuss later.
The major difference that we find among the voting and curation is that in voting we generally find the post and vote it by our preference and curation is actually to vote the post after the proper evaluation.
If we vote a content before 5 minutes or after 6 days 12 hours of its age in Steem Blockchain, will we have the same amount of reward as the other periods? Show how one checks the reward amount of a post that has returned to Steem Blockchain's reward pool? |

No the Curation rewards We got after 5 minutes or 6 days 12 hours will be different from the amount of curation reward .Rewards depends upon timing of our vote also.
If we quickly vote on a post after 5 minute of its publication we will got the less amount of Reward from the Rewards Pool.So voting immediately after the 5 minutes is discouraged and also give the less reward.Actually the Rewards are distributed on the bases of the Rewards distribution Curve that is drawn on the basis of the Time Period.
When we vote on a post after the 5 minutes or before its payout we will be able to earn the good curation also But the vote at the last instances means when a post is about to payout will also reduce the Rewards from the system.
We can check out the Reward amount of the post that is returned to the Steem Blockchain Rewards pool on different DApps.Here I have the checked the amount of Rewards that is returned on the steemworld
- First of all go to the steam world's website and open the dashboard.
- After opening the dashboard switch your account here I just enter my account name.
- Scroll down and check out your posts. We can simply see the details of post by clicking on the specific post. I have checked the returned amount of a finished post.
- I have checked my recently finished post here just click on the post and all the required information will display.
- Below you can see the payout Returned to that is of my payouted post.
the formula which is used to calculate the curation rewards that we can get by chrating a post is given below.
Curator payout = (1/2) √PT (√P1-√P0) Δt
Here,
∆t is t/5 when t is less than 5 min and ∆t is 1 when t is more than 5 mins.
In this formula
PT is total payout of post after 7 days
P1 is payout of post after our vote
P0 is payout of post after our vote
How can a curator earn more than 100% upvote value as curation rewards? Take any post you voted in Steem Blockchain and indicate the time and position of your vote, what is the projected curation reward? |

yes it is possible that the curators can het more than 100 percent of the curation reward this thing is depending on the viting position, the value of our votes and the time of voting I am giving an example in the below part you can see the curation reward from the steemworld.org the link of that post is Here
In this screenshot you are seen that my curation reward is 101% which i have earned from this post let see the overview of all the curators who have voted this post in the below graph
my vote value for 100 percent vote post was 0.0345$ so i will calculate if my curation reward is more than this value or not. so let's start the calculation
Voting Value : 0.0345$
Voting Position (I have counted): 38
Voting Time: 34m 33s
Curation Rewards : (0.25 * 0.140) = 0.035$
Now i have get 0.035 and if we will calculate the percentage of curation reward than it will be
(0.035/0.0345) * 100 = 101%

Curation is very important for the betterment of and for the growth of the platform. By curating we can support the quality content that brings the fairness in the system and also a good environement of earning can be created as well.
By Curation we can evaluate the quality content and can upvote from our best to specify the original and good bloggers or writers.There are some important points or roles of curation.
- Curation helps the users to earn the good Curation rewards and in this way the Reward pool of the system increases and The platform grow as well.
- We can motivate the users by curating their posts which leads towards the potential of more posting in the users as well as interact the other users to join the platform.
- We can create the engaging and growing community by the curation.
Self upvotes are not encouraged on the Steemit platform.By self up voting we actually ruin the fairness system of curation on the Steemit Platform.In self upvote we just consider the post irrespective of the quality and rules of the platform which is not a good practice of curation.
To some Extinct it helps the users to boost up their post and nominate it as the quality post by support to their ownwork but the drawbacks I have explained above.
