Introduction
Steem greetings to everyone in the Steemit Crypto Academy community, we hope everyone enjoyed participating in the Week2 of our contest last week which was talking about the steemit blockchain. We are very grateful for the support of all of you who have been participating and engaging with others which is the essence of this engagement challenge.
We welcome you to join in this week's challenge and contribute from your experience, as well as interact with your peers by leaving relevant comments and upvotes. This week contest theme is similar to the one last week and perhaps, it's a continuation of the the contest theme last week which was about knowing the steem Blockchain. This week's contest theme is Understanding The Steem Blockchain and we shall discuss alot about this theme
Contest theme: Understanding The Steem Blockchain
This week, the quiz we will be tackling is about having an understanding of the Steem Blockchain
Steem blockchain is a protocol which is outline to build decentralized social media platforms. It is accountable for storing records of both text content and transaction data and it also carryout reward calculations and payouts to the distributors every after 7-days. Accessing data on steemit is totally free without restrictions and this is powered by a DApp called "steemit" which was the first DApp that was launched on the Steem Blockchain
As steemit is a social media platform, it integrate how other social media platform likes, share, votes or comments into a unique decentralized platform that gives the opportunity to pay it's users in STEEM, TRX and SBD for publishing original quality content within the network
Building ones SP in the Steem network is very important and steem users also have to know and understand all what curation is and how important it is in the Steem network.
What is expected in the Contest?
Explain The following terms, STEEM, SBD, SP and TRX
Explain The Benefits Of Building Ones SP in Steem Blockchain
Explain The Meaning Of Curation in steem Blockchain and also explain if self-voting is a good or bad practice on the steem Blockchain
Explain what you understand by voting window In steem Blockchain. Vote two posts( one that is older than 7-days and one that is less than 7-days ) and explain to us what happened between the two posts. Does all the two voted post produce monetary value and do they consume your voting manna? Before carrying out this task please go to steemworld and screenshot your present voting manna

Contest Guidelines
• Post your articles in the Steemit Crypto Academy community. The participation time is between Monday, October 24thth, 2022, 00:00 UTC to Sunday, October 30th, 2022, 23:59 UTC.
• The article should be at minimum 500 words. You can write more. Your article must be free of any form of plagiarism.
• Your article title should be Steemit Crypto Academy Contest / S5W3 - Understanding The Steem Blockchain. Add the tag #cryptoacademy-s5w3 and other relevant tags.
• Participants must be appropriately following #club5050 or #club75 or #club100.
• The community moderators would be leaving quality assessments on your articles and probable upvotes.
• In addition, your article must get at least 10 upvotes and 5 valid comments to count valid in the contest, so ensure you interact with other users' entries. Do not be involved in vote-buying.
Rewards
• SC01 would be checking on the entire 7 participating communities and upvoting outstanding content. Upvote is not guaranteed for all articles. Kindly take note.
• At the end of the week, we would nominate top 3 users that had performed well in the contest and they would be eligible for votes from SC01/SC02.
Important Notice: The nomination of the top 3 users in our community is not based on good grades alone, it includes their general engagements (quality and quantity of their interactions with other users' articles) to measure the overall performance. Also note that generally, you can only make one post per day in the Steemit Engagement Challenge.
Conclusion
Steemit is an innovative and a decentralized blockchain-based social media application that is built on the Steem blockchain. Content creators and curation are rewarded with STEEM, TRX and SBD
