Hello everyone,
Happy to be back here and today I want to officially welcome everyone back to the season 4 of the crypto academy and I hope we all will have a smooth ride on the wheel of knowledge in this season. That being said, I will also want to thank Prof. @sapwood for giving me the opportunity to partake in this class and for the wonderful delivery on the topic Steem and Tron. So, in demonstration of knowledge, I will be attending the following questions:
What is PoB?
What does curation mean to you in Steem Blockchain?
What are the benefits of building SP?
How do you explain self-upvote as a good or bad social behavior & why?
Explore Coinmarketcap.com to indicate rank, STEEM price, and coinmarketcap of STEEM(screenshot required)?
What are the different tokens do you earn by socializing in Steem Blockchain?
How would you use your TRX earned in Steem Blockchain to optimize earning in Tron ecosystem?
what is PoB?
PoB is an acronym for Proof of Brain. Before I delve into explanation proper it would suffice to say that the steem Blockchain is a Decentralised Blockchain that encourages the participation of every user. Based on the user's participation, they are being rewarded. These rewards are divided into two; 50% goes to the author and 50% for the curator. Every user is expected to produce quality contents to be able to earn these rewards while the curators censor every Author's content to ensure it meets the criteria of a quality content before curating a post.
Proof of Brain is a sinequanon to making quality contents in the steem Blockchain. The watch word to producing a good content to earn is product of intellect. Intellectual ability is what determines the kind of vote a user gets.
PoB is a system used to reward the author from a reward pool. It empowers creativity as the user puts his best in publishing powerful contents that would benefit the steem Blockchain and its users and his reward is the healing reward from the curators.
PoB is basically empowered by the user's knowledge based on a particular topic. By PoB we can determine if a content is of value to other users and the community at large or otherwise.
For the author: it means making quality post free from plagiarism and generating good materials to produce a wonderful content beneficial to the steem Blockchain and the user.
For the curator: Being able to identify both good and bad content and Resteeming quality contents for other users to benefit from it.
In other words, PoB facilitate growth and development of the steem Blockchain.
What does curation mean to you in Steem Blockchain?
There's such thing as a reward pool in the steem Blockchain. From this pool user's quality contents are being rewarded.
Ordinarily, Curation does not just mean Upvoting and downvoting a post. It include the following but not limited to:
- Censoring the post to detect its originality.
- Checking the content and image sources.
- Cross checking the quality use of markdowns.
- Resteeming such content so other users can get value from it, upvote it too and as well comment on it.
- Reading a post in between lines and in details.
- Upvoting a quality post with available resources like voting power and voting weight.
What are the benefits of building SP?
SP is an acronym for Steem power. The amount of steem power a user has is what determines a user's influence in the steem Blockchains. SP is a necessary tool In steem Blockchain and building it is a necessity. It is one of the tokens we receive at the end of a payout of any post on the steemit platform.
Building SP is very important as long as a user wants to grow his influence in the steem Blockchain and the following are reasons why you need to build your SP:
- Building SP and having enough SP makes it possible to build a community.
- You gain a lot of influence in the platform when you have reasonable number of SP.
- Upvoting an author's post leaves you with greater reward as much as the author when you build your SP.
- You build your SP so you can delegate to communities you subscribe to and they will in turn support you by voting your posts with those SP.
- For the integration of TRX into your steemit wallet i.e the more your SP, the more TRX you get as one SP is equal to one TRX.
- You need to build your SP so you can encourage newcomers in the steemit platform by Upvoting their posts so they can participate more.
- You enjoy the privilege of performing as many task as possible when you build your SP to a reasonable amount.
- You stand the chance of getting too many followers.
How do you explain self-upvote as a good or bad social behavior & why?
Self vote in simple terms connotes a content creator voting for his content.
For me, this act is a bad social behavior as the steem Blockchain has shared responsibility in that while the content creators are expected to produce only but a quality content, the curators are meant to judge such posts and vote depending on the quality of such content.
Self vote is a bad social behavior and I believe so because of the following reasons:
-It will not encourage social connectivity
- It will not enhance the steem Blockchain
- It is bad social behavior
- No one can be a judge in his own cause... It is more impartial when a another person is your judge.
Explore Coinmarketcap.com to indicate rank, STEEM price, and coinmarketcap of STEEM(screenshot required)?
To Explore coinmarketcap you have to first of all, visit the website
From the website homepage you can view some coins with their rank marked with the red and Bitcoin ranking first, Ethereum ranking second and from this same view you can see the price of coins, it's rank, circulating supply etc
Next, you click on the search button to search the steem coin as it was not reflecting on the homepage and first set of ranked coins.
I was able to search the steem coin and as at the day this operation was performed, one steem was $0.7083 as seen in the area marked red.
Also from the image above, the market cap of steem as at the day this operation was performed was $272, 313, 218.97.
What are the different tokens do you earn by socializing in Steem Blockchain?
Socializing in the steem Blockchain gives you the reward of different tokens such as:
- Steem power
- SBD
- Steem
- TRX.
Steem power: It is used to rate a user's influence on the steem Blockchain. It is a vested steem. Basically, steem power is earned through Curation but mostly hugely when an author powers his post up to 100%
SBD: SBD is an acronym for steem Backed dollars. It is a steem Blockchain stable currency usually pegged at $1 USD. It is a liquid currency earned via Publications too.
Steem: This is the native token of the steem Blockchain. It is the main coin and can be rewarded through active participation in the steem Blockchain or by reading.
TRX: This is native token of the steem Blockchain but after the integration of steemit and Tron, users get rewarded with Tron which is an equivalent of 1 SP.
How would you use your TRX earned in Steem Blockchain to optimize earning in Tron ecosystem?
Users earn TRX equivalent to steem in the steem Blockchain. Also, TRX earned from my steemit account are transferred to my TronLink wallet app where I store my TRX.
I optimize my TRX earned from steemit platform by staking those coins in this platform and getting reasonable reward in return or even trading with such coins in likeable platforms.
Conclusion
By virtue of attempting this assignment, I was able to understand the requirements for Curation in the steem Blockchain, I also was able to explore the coinmarketcap to view more exciting features of the website.
Also, I had better understanding of the TRX and steem integration and its outcome in the steem Blockchain and I really want to appreciate the amiable professor for being thorough enough to teach and making it understandable.
