Funds stored in centralised exchange are ment for temporary purposes such as trading, buying and selling. It's not advisable to store your funds on the exchange.
You're absolutely right. Just like I said on the post, centralized exchanges are not meant for storage/investment purposes rather such assets should be moved to a decentralized wallet or exchange for security purposes.
