in SteemitCryptoAcademy3 years ago

There are two types of social media available today: centralized and decentralized. While the intelligent prefer centralized platforms, the super intelligent prefer decentralized platforms. Thanks to @yousafharoonkhan for bringing this to our attention. Here is my week 13 assignment, which highlights facts and figures about centralization and decentralization in social media in great detail.

1.Definition of decentralized and centralized social media platforms.

Decentralized social media: A decentralized social media (social media platform) is one in which a user's account, activities, and bio-details are not controlled, monitored, supervised, or managed by a single person or group of people tasked with overseeing a user's daily activities. Steemit.com, Minds.com, and Mastondon.com are just a few examples of decentralized social media.

Centralized social media: A social media platform on which the data of every registered user is managed directly from a central office is known as centralized social media. To put it another way, a centralized social media platform can be linked to a specific person or group of people. Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp are a few examples.

Difference between decentralization and centralization on social media platforms.

On a social media platform, decentralization refers to a system that is designed to give each registered user an equal stake in the platform. The implication of decentralization is that every registered user is considered a contributor to the platform, and their opinions and suggestions are not monitored by any person or group of people. Instead, every registered user of the platform has complete freedom to conduct legitimate business and freely express their opinions without fear of being sanctioned or penalized.

While;

Users on social media platforms have little or no freedom to express themselves without fear of being sanctioned or suspended because of centralized control. On centralized social media, every registered user must agree to the chief executive officer's terms and conditions or face eviction.

2.Which one is the future of social media? centralized or decentralized social media?

People are becoming more aware of the issues plaguing centralized systems, the most prominent of which are privacy concerns resulting from centralized social media platforms banking on their users' data, the stifling of users' freedom of expression, and the lack of monetary reward for use. As a result, the push is now for decentralization. Evidence supports that decentralized social media has come to stay and it is the future of social media, here are some reasons for this:
Everyone loves freedom
Everyone wants to be heard
Everyone would love to appreciated/rewarded for their contributions
Decentralized social media platforms provide these and other benefits. Recent trends have highlighted the undeniable success of decentralization and the push for it. According to recent reports, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of one of the most centralized social media platforms, Facebook, was studying the decentralized system and how block chain could be integrated into Facebook.

3.How steemit decentralization social media is best than Twitter and Facebook.

When comparing the Steemit decentralized platform to Twitter and Facebook, it is clear that the advantages of using the Steemit decentralized social media platform outweigh the advantages of using any other centralized social media platform. The following are the reasons:

I.Security: Decentralized systems are generally more secure than centralized systems, except when a compromise occurs as a result of a user's actions. In decentralized systems, account breaches are typically less reported.

II.Personalization: On a decentralized platform like Steemit, each user is not limited or regulated in terms of what they are allowed to share.

III.Education: Steemit is the only social media platform that encourages users to be creative while also allowing them to learn, teach, and socialize with others.

IV.Skill acquisition/enhancement: The decentralized Steemit platform has aided many people in discovering and developing their potential in content writing, cooking, baking, and photography, among other things.

Steemit promotes civilization and education by exposing its users to various aspects of the world that they would not otherwise be exposed to through their daily interactions on centralized platforms.
The devastating economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an increase in the number of unemployed people around the world, forcing many businesses to lay off workers. Individuals, on the other hand, have been given opportunities to generate income amidst the pandemic, thanks to the help of Steemit.
