HOW DO YOU STORE/SECURE YOUR KEYS?

  • Users are given a unique key when they join a decentralized site, which we must protect against technical hackers. Given the possibility of network hacking, the best way to do so is to make a backup of any such key in a secure location, preferably physically (for example, write them down on a piece of paper and keep them in a secure location, such as your wallet) or externally (for example, save passwords on pen drives). Saving passwords to computers, emails, and cell phones is not recommended because they can be hijacked or hacked.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT FORMS OF PRIVATE KEYS (EXAMPLES/SCREENSHOT

The various keys include: The following

  • Private Key
  • Mnemonic key (seed phrase)
  • Keystore file (JSON file)

PRIVATE KEY

A private key is a cryptographically created security code in blockchain technology. The cryptographic algorithm enables numbers, letters, and characters to be combined in a lengthy sequence. The private key has several characters that are alphabets and numbers. It is difficult for attackers to identify because of the private key comprising alphabets and numbers.

Example of private keys : hqw32hrf5k78lazx4eedds, qwerfs234jkl564oij34n

Mnemonic key

A series of words are used to express codes in this type of key. Mnemonic keys are sometimes referred to as seed keys, mnemonic phrases, or mnemonic passes. Using mnemonic keys, it is easier to obtain extra keys associated with a wallet and to restore a wallet. Using mnemonic keys is one thing to keep in mind to ensure that the sequence is not forgotten.

Mnemonic Key Example:

Keystore file (JSON file)

The encrypted version of the private key is called a Keystore file. It's created by combining the private key with a password.

HOW DO YOU STORE THE KEY (HINT- WRITE IT DOWN ON A NOTEPAD, DEMONSTRATE IT WITH EXAMPLES)?

Due to the ability to revive a wallet, reset passwords, and generate bitcoin addresses, the mnemonic key is the most important, if not one of the most important, key. I jotted it in my notepad and locked it away from illegal access. As a result, I've decided to use the cold wallet method.

WHICH FORM OF THE KEY ARE YOU COMFORTABLE WITH TO HANDLE YOUR TRONLINK WALLET?

I prefer the mnemonic key to the other keys since it is more accessible and I can recover it without having to rely on other sources, which are more likely to be lost.

CONCLUSION

We must take care of the keys since they play an important platform function. From this lecture, I also downloaded, installed, and set up my own Wallet TronLink, which I had never heard of before. This is task 6 from my season 3 first-year course. Thank you for giving us useful information regarding the Tronlink wallet and its uses, Professor @Sapwood.

THANK YOU
