Litecoin have been in existence for sometime now with it's name flying around the heart of investors
It started in 2011 when the developer and former Google employee Charlie Lee founded Litecoin, and also called Bitcoin's silver gold. This is mainly because it uses much of Bitcoin but remains an increasingly popular independent chain — albeit not as popular as Bitcoin which is at the forefront in terms of its market value.
That said; Litecoin has many advantages over Bitcoin, including higher transaction rates, and just 2.5 minute block times.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LITECOIN AND BITCOIN

Although in many respects Litecoin and Bitcoin are related, there are also various differences:

1. The two cryptocurrencies used various algorithms.Bitcoin uses the well-recognized SHA-256 algorithm, however, Litecoin uses a modern, updated Scrypt algorithm.
   The distinction between the two is they both influence the way new coins are mined in a somewhat different way. The SHA-256 is regarded as much more complex than the Scrypt procedure.
2. Difference in supply:
   The number of coins available for mining is another important distinction between the two.
   Bitcoin has a limited capped of 21,000,000 coins and Litecoin has 84,000,000. It also takes Litecoin 2.5 minutes which is slightly less than Bitcoins that will take up to 10 minutes to process.

INVESTING IN LITECOIN

If it's important to note that if you want to invest in Litecoin, Litecoin is a currency. It does not behave like a bond or stock. You swap the money to Litecoin currency instead of purchasing shares of Litecoin.

To invest in litecoin, you will need a digital wallet where you can store and trade your litecoin. This can be done using Coin base and other market that supports trading of litecoin. With coinbase, you can trade litecoin like any other crypto currency.

The decentralised theory forbids entirely the option for any person or governmental system to regulate and control this cryptocurrency.

ADVANTAGES OF LITECOIN

I will like to mention few of the advantage of litecoin over Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

1. High speed in transaction:
   The processing speed of the block has improved dramatically thanks to the modern scrypt algorithm. The block development average speed is approximately 2.5 minutes. This is more than Bitcoin's many times bigger. This reduces the time of the exchange considerably.
2. It is convenient and easy to use for both buyer and seller.
3. Its decentralised operation forbids entirely the option for any person or governmental system to regulate and control this cryptocurrency.

DISADVANTAGES

1. There is no stable market because the probability is always that cryptocurrencies is prohibited in many countries. Although this problem is not fixed so we cannot assume stability.
2. High rate of vitality is another disadvantage which can put investor away from investing in the coin

It is up to everyone to determine whether to invest in Litecoin. However, it is one of the worthy choices to select based on its advantages.
