Crypto Academy Week 11: Homework Post for (@yohan2on) | My Cryptocurrency Investment Portfolio

This article contains my cryptocurrencies investment over the past two days. In this task, I made $50 investment each in MANA, TVK, KAVA, WAVES, TRB, and BZRX, amounting to a total of $300.

My portfolio is a mix of DeFi and NFT cryptocurrencies. MANA and TVK are NFTs, while KAVA, WAVES, TRB, and BZRX are DeFis. The reason why I invested more on DeFis is because they have been on a rampage lately, breaking through previous resistant levels.

Why I Invested in Them

Below are my my reasons for investing in these coins:

1. MANA

MANA is a cryptocurrency used in an interactive virtual reality platform called Decentraland. Assets in this virtual world are non-fungible. And it is no news that NFTs have been trending since the start of the bull run. This attracted me to the platform. However, I needed more reason to invest so I decided to do another form of analysis.

From the screenshot of MANA, it is easy to identify a steady growth in the value of MANA. This signified that there is a high probability of making a profit this coin. This was the final convincing fact I needed to make an investment.

2. TVK

Category: NFT

TVK is another NFT related token I decided to take a look at. The first thing I noticed was the low amount of circulating supply. It is simply too small for a digital currency of cross-market platform. Inflation was imminent, so I got really interested in the coin. As usual, I went further to do more analysis.

The chart of TVK/BUSD pair shows a deep and then a sudden uptrend. After experiencing a severe deep, TVK recent movement suggests that I am most likely going to make a profit. In my honest opinion, this investment was a bit more risky than the previous one. I did it anyway.

3. KAVA

Category: DeFi

When creating a portfolio it is wise to include coins of varied diversity. Unlike the first the coins that made it to my portfolio, KAVA is a DeFi. Why this is good is because sometimes NFTs may experience a downtrend while DeFis experience an uptrend. This diversifies the risk of the portfolio, with each asset complimenting each other.

So far, KAVA has the lowest circulating supply of tokens with just 58 million units. This implies that its may go up even further.

KAVA was still around the support level when I noticed the coin. It is often best to buy at support levels because you stand to gain a lot when it reaches the resistant level. As such, I made a decision to invest in KAVA.

4. WAVES

Category: DeFi

WAVES is another DeFi crytocurrency that is very promising. In fact, it is more promising than KAVA. It has already partnered with some tech giants including Google. Web 3.0 is the future of the internet and WAVES platform is made to support Web3 Apps. Moreover, it has a reasonable amount of circulating supply.

WAVES is yet to experience a severe deep or correction. The chart above tells a story I like to hear. It has been relatively a bed of roses for investors. And I would like to lie on that bed for sometime. I have a hunch this may be my best investment. I don't want to get ahead of myself so let's see how it goes.

5. TRB

What the heck! TRB has just 1 million units in circulation. That's crazy. It seems this has contributed to the coin almost costing a hundred dollars for one unit. TRB have a good team behind it. The CEO and co-founder of this project is Brenda Loya. She is a statiscian with a good track record.

The movement of TRB across the chart is one of the steepest in my portfolio. Also, chart tells me that TRB would cross the $100 mark in a few days time.

6. BZRX

Category: DeFi

BZRX has a decent circulating supply. The fact is, I have a soft spot for BZRX. I profited a lot from this coin late February. Since then, I have closely monitored the coin to identify a good opportunity to buy some positions.

The chart shows a steady rise in value with periodic, mostly caused by Bitcoin correction. You can notice the uptrend I made a profit from in February/March. I hope I make another massive profit this time.

My cryptocurrencies investment portfolio cost a total $300 to buy MANA, TVK, KAVA, WAVES, TRB, and BZRX. I made a net profit of 11.01%, amounting to $33.08 on my six crytocurrencies investment portfolio.

BZRX was the only asset in my portfolio that gave me a loss, but I believe it will recover soon.

Final Words

Thank you @yohan2on for this exciting homework. One important lesson I have learnt from this week's task is to always diversify my portfolio across different categories of cryptos so that the profit of one asset can help cover the loss of another.

My portfolio is a mix of DeFis and NFTs and I'm glad I made this decision.
