Hello again. The past week was another busy one. We learnt about the consensus algorithms in blockchain, and we had another massive turn up of students. I want to thank everyone who took their time out to read, and participate. You are all wonderful. Amidst all these, I must express my sadness as reduction in quality of posts was noticed. We will get into that soon

As against week 3 where we had over 260 entries, this week we had 238 entries submitted on time. This enthusiasm is very well appreciated and I thank all students who participated, even admit the language barriers and all. Keep up the good work.

From the 230+ entries, we had a lot of average scores, 23 were below the cut off mark, and 71 students scored 7 or above. Everyone who wrote original content should feel proud regardless of their score, you are doing the community proud.

THE TASK

The task was for students to;

Write on any of these consensus algorithms extensively
Stellar Consensus Protocol
Proof of Capacity
Proof of Burn
Proof of Elapsed Time

While a lot of students understood the task, a few seemed not to understand and went ahead to write brief notes on all . I apologise if I communicated inefficiently.

Presentation

Some students lost marks because they did not organise their work well, no distinct headers, no dividers or proper spacing. We should always remember that we ar blogging too and put in effort to making Quality Publications

Plagiarism

This seems to still be a problem as about 5% plagiarism was discovered. Plagiarism is stealing, and it will get you banned in the academy. Please desist from it. You are allowed to do extensive research, learn then write your thoughts. Do not be a robot copying and pasting, you are ruining both the integrity of the academy and the whole concept of learning. You end up lacking the same knowledge we work so hard to impart.

We are all committed to the growth of this academy, the reduction in fishy activities is welcoming. I encourage everyone to keep working hard, the Proof-of-Brain will reward you for your efforts to contribute quality content to the community.

This week's task felt too generic and henceforth I will engage in more fun hands-on tasks, as practical applications help the memory to remember what was taught. Keep up the good work, write original content and work even harder, but in all you do, do not forget to have fun while learning.
