This is my submission for the Steemit Crypto Academy task by @yousafharoonkhan and this week its about TradingView. TradingView is a website for traders where we can learn many things including charts and that too with advanced functions. So in this lesson professor has explained so many features and how to use this web platform to make trading easy and profitable.

1- Defining the TradingView site and how to register an account in tradingview? what are the different registration plans?

What is TradingView?

TradingView is one of the leading websites that provides detailed chart information about current as well as past performance of world markets. I got to know about this website over a year back and at that time I used to think that its only for the use of crypto but when I explored the portal then I found that its such a nice portal that provides charting for various markets including crypto, stocks, currency, indices, bonds, future, and bonds, etc. It offers easy to use UI that even news users can access with ease and find out the information they needed however experienced one can explore the best use of charting which can also be called advanced trading as they use various indicators.

I mostly use this website for my crypto things however sometimes I use it for stocks as well but since I am mostly active in crypto trading then my preferred reason to visit this website is the same. TradingView offers various indicators that help us read the market through various aspects and traders can get the most accurate analysis through this. TradingView is one of the top-charting websites that even most of the crypto exchanges provide the option to use tradingview charts and they have integrated the same. I use wazirx exchange and they have also integrated charts with tradingview which shows how tradingview is a popular name in the trading space when it comes to the best charting experience.

The TradingView offers a range of features that makes it a great and reliable platform for traders and even for new users. These features include the CHARTS which provides a glimpse and overview of how a particular asset is performing. We get the MARKETS option we can choose the market we want to use it for and it has quite a vast information available however its managed in a way that one can easily navigate it to the required page and the site works so fast even on the low bandwidth network connection.

In the SCREENERS tab, we get 3 options including Stocks screener, Forex screener, and Crypto scanners where we get the best experience with preferred options. We can choose the market and get the market analysis through this option.

Community is the segment on the portal where we can see articles and opinions of experts and it helps us determine the market sentiments. We get to know about the latest update of the market in a glance and we get trading ideas as well as educations ideas here.

How to register an account in tradingview?

Here are the steps that are required to create an account in the tradingview website

• I did search TradingView in Google.
• Get the first result of tradingview in search.
• Opened the link for the trading view website and clicked on the right top of the page to sign up.

• It showing some plans to continue with but I will go with the free basic plan.

• I have chosen Try Free basic and will go ahead with this to create an account.

• Now form is open and I need to fill in the information
• username
• Email
• password
• terms and marketing email acceptance
• Captcha verification
• Clocked on Create account button to continue.

• Now I can see this message that my account is not active yet and an email has been sent to my email and I must verify through the link to proceed further with account creation.

• I have liked the link provided in the email and this page opened which is asking me to enter my name and upload a photo. I did the same.

• Now my account creation is done and as you can see that I joined 4 minutes ago and am currently online. I have the option to upgrade my account with 30 days trial but I will continue to use the free basic version for now.

what are the different registration plan?

During the registration process, it was showing the available plans and even there was an option to go with the free plan which is basic and does not offer any premium feature. If someone wants to go with the paid plan then can choose that else there is always the option to upgrade and choose the desired plan as per the preference. So let's go ahead and get more details of these 4 plans-

• Pro plan
• Pro+ plan
• Premium plan

Free Basic Plan- This is a basic plan and its for the new users who are new in trading don't want to use advanced trading features. Since its free so it offers limited features as compared to paid plans but for new users, even this plan has a lot to offer and once a user gains more knowledge then can go for another plan if he/she plans so. There is no cost involved with this plan so one can easily use it as long as he wants.

Pro plan- After the free basic plan this is the next plan with some interactive features and quite nice features as compared to the free plan. This plan comes with a monthly cost of $14.95 and for annual it comes for USD 155 so there is a saving of 24 USD in the annual plan. This plan offers the feature to use 5 indicators, 2 charts in one window, 20 server-side alerts, etc and there will be no more advertisement.

Pro+ plan- After the pro Plan, this Pro+ plan comes with the money cost of $29.95 and for annual we can get it for $299 and there is a saving of $60 if we go with an annual plan. Its an advanced plan as compared to free and pro and we get increased features and limits with this plan. This plan includes the use of 10 indicators in a chart, the 100 server-side alerts, and the use of 4 charts in one layout along with the use of two devices at a time, etc.

Premium plan- This is the top plan and offers the best of features and that too it offers everything that trading view and without any limitation. It costs $59.95 monthly and for the annual plan there will be a charge of $ 599 and there is a saving of $120 if we opt for the annual plan.

2-Explain the different features of tradingView and what is your favorite feature and why?

If we look at the home page then we can see the option showing like this where we can see- Charts, Tarde, Markets, Screeners, and Community, etc. These are the main option and we can see many features under these so let's go ahead and explore.

Charts

Charts are the p[primary function of this portal and the kind of options we get here are not available elsewhere. We get a complete view of all the activities and have the option to draw the lines, text, and many others to have a better watch of the chart. In this chart option, we can choose any asset with different available pairs and we also have the option to replay the market movement. We know that prices are never stable and keeps on moving so there is an option of replay that let us know the earlier price moves. Another important component like resistance and support levels can be easily figured out and the basis on this. With these trend lines, we can do the analysis and conclude if the market is bearish or bullish.

Trade

Under this tab, we get Top Brokers on TradingView and these featured brokers are integrated as well. We can see their rating, portal name, minimum deposit amount along promotional bonus as well. Here its also mentioned the leverage that they offer and it varies with everyone. We can open an account with these top brokers and they have shared information about them as well so we can determine the one we want to continue with if interested.

Markets

This is one of the segments on the websites where we get plenty of options from each market that is listed on tradingview. We know that trading view has various worldwide markets and from this tab, we choose the one we want to analyze with. So let's go one by one to understand more about it-

Cryptocurrencies-
I use tradingview mostly for my crypto needs because I am active in crypto only so its one of my favourite parts that I visit quite often. In this section, we get various crypto options including prices for al coins, Defi, and leading coins. It even shows the price movement of top coins and overall crypto marketcap that stands at 1.38 trillion$ as of now when I am writing this post. I can choose any get the insight of it and do the analysis of its overall price movement.

Currencies-
This is another section where we can get the information about various currencies like EURO, GBP, USD, and AUD, etc and if you are trading in forex then this is the right place for you. You also get the option to go by region and explore accordingly but tradingview also features some top currencies and we can use the direct option to visit the detailed page. This currency is also known as fiat and legal tenders in the country.

Stocks-
Stock trading has its own audience and its one of the old markets. Companies sell their stake and that part is known as stock. In section, we can see some top names like Apple, Amazon, Tesla, Netflix, and Facebook, etc and we know that these stocks are tradable worldwide. Now we have the option to trade international exchanges as well so this section is helpful for us to check out more of the company's stocks. We easily can go through top gainer or top loose and plan our trading accordingly.

Indices-
Like other segments, this is also listed here and we get some options here including S&P 500, and its like fortune 500 companies that have a high probability to grow and we can do the study over here. Other options like Nasdaq 100 and DOW 30 etc are also here and we can choose to explore them as well.

Future-
With section, we get information about future trading and its available for many sectors including Agri, Energy, Currency, Metals, etc and one can go through in detail to get the information for study and analysis.

Bonds-
Here we get the information of various bonds including the major ones and even have the option to go by regions if required.

Screener

Screener provides us 3 options to choose from or continue with and these are Stocks, Forex and Crypto. We can use the option to get the insight and detailed information of assets so if you have an interest in crypto then choose Crypto Screener and it will help you get thorough information about any crypto pair.

As shown in the below snapshot we can use various options to get the information of crypto.

Community

As the word says its about the community that means we can connect with people having similar interests and go through their thoughts and analysis. Its like getting their reaction on we have the interest and it helps us gain useful information from another person to do the decision making. There are many experts and with options, we can learn from their experience and it will help us get a better understand of trading in the particular sector. In short, I can say that the community option is to connect with people and learn from them as well as we can share our expertise with them as well.

My Favorite feature and why

Now to answer the question that what is my favorite feature, then my answer is alerts and this is the one I like a lot. In crypto its about staying more active and keeping a close eye on assets that we think are valuable and can help us gain some returns. Although some people like to have a look at the overall market movement I prefer to track some coins and want to have a close tab such coins only. With the alert feature, I can get to know if my coins reach on lower or higher price mark than I want and I can set it up accordingly. Once the coin touches the price mark then I will get a notification and I can perform the trade. Like I track steem to have created an alert and if it goes to my price then I'm will be alerted and this feature I like a lot and my favorite. I can get this alert on email as well as the app so I need not spend time here or to keep the window open and tradingview will do it for me.

3-How to set up a chart in TradingView and use two tools to edit it.

Steps-

• Clicked on Chart option on the homepage
• I choose ETH USD pair after clicking on the asset option
• Clicked on setting

I go to settings and made changes with symbols as shown in the snapshot.

Now I made some changes in settings under the appearance option and highlighted all here as well.

Clicked on ok and this is how the chart is looking now. I have added an open price option, background color, watermark, etc and this is how it changed after making these changes.

4-Explain how to add indicators in the chart, what is your favorite indicator, and why?

There are many indicators in tradingview but I prefer to use MOVING AVERAGE (MA) a lot and I am going to show how I can add in the chart.

• I did some changes using a setting in the last question and will continue with some of them
• I choose ETH/USD chart
• Then I clicked on the FX indicator option on top of the page.
• Did search for Moving average and can see a list of matching indicators
• Chosen Only Moving average
• I can see a small MA toolbar added to the chart.
• There is a setting on the MA toolbar and I selected it
• Did some changes on inputs first thereafter in styles

There is a variety of options to customize the chart and we can do it as per our choice.

What is my favorite indicator and why?

Like I made the changes in the above snapshots and added a moving average indicator so this is my favorite indicator on charts.

This Moving Average indicator is one of the popular indicators that we can rely on to understand the strong market signal in terms of pricing. This indicator helps a trader to understand the market trend whether its bullish or bearing and based on this we can plan the trade accordingly. I sometimes take my trade position with the help of this indicator and its ways to use as well as easy to understand. Supports and Resistance are two important components and with the MA we can figure out both zones and trading both helps us to determine if its buy or sell time.

5-Do you think TradingView is useful in predicting the market for cryptocurrency (trend / price)?

TradingView is a well-known name when it comes to charts and because it provides huge options to use with chart readings however I have never used their premium. I have seen crypto experts and influencers using trading view paid plan and I have seen them drawing some fantastic analyses and market movements.

Yes, TradingView is a useful tool for the prediction of the market for cryptocurrency and we can predict market trends and prices. As we all know that 100% accurate prediction is never possible however a close match is always a scope and we can surely do it easily with tradingview.

Using these many indicators we can identify how the market accumulation is going on and figure out the weightage on sell or buy depending upon volume and this way it helps us to predict the next move. Sometimes market looks stable in price but still, we see that there is a lot of accumulation going on and it clearly shows that market is going to be bullish so we can use the trading view to get this information.

Although we have charted on a trading view which majority helps us to determine the prediction however on top of that we have a community as well that can be another helpful stuff for us to learn and do even closer prediction since there is a lot that helps us make a better call.

6-Conclusion

I have been using trading view for quite some time and I am happy with my experience. I use the basic version that comes with limited functionalities and that too with advertisement but since I am not a daily trader so its is good enough for me. This website is easy to use and its UI is very user-friendly that anyone can create an account easily in few minutes and be ready to use the portal. Options are so easy and use a neat and clean interface that can easily get familiar with. Its a leading website in its segment and I don't know if other portals are offering similar features.

It was a great learning lesson about TradingView and thanks to professor @yousafharoonkhan for explaining well about this. I can say that for every trader this is one. of the sure, that must visit to enhance their learning about crypto trading and to learn some basic and advanced functions of technical analysis.
