Centralized vs decentralized...

"Here you are the dilemma" would say Shakespeare if he'd live in this new technology era. There's a big difference between these ways to address things in the internet interactions that any user might be experimenting at websites or applications: in centralization there's just one point of view towards a main server and where all benefits generated into the platform goes directly to the owner of it. In decentralization, the proposal in completely the opposite: the users are the characters that are leading the ecosystem and communication among them is taking place practically peer to peer. Let's see the following comparation examples to illustrate better what I'm talking about.

Steemit vs Facebook:

FB it's a popular social media that born in 2004 with humble goals at the beginning I guess, but nowadays it's the biggest one that is having millions of people using it even as a daily routine to interact and share with others.

In Steemit, you can do it too but it's a reality to get rewarded just for posting, commenting and voting according to the quality content in consideration. Users are the ones that judges the contents created on the platform. As a centralized social media, FB is arbitrary using our personal data and history searching for disturbing us with a lot of advertising that not is not always desired. And besides, there's strong rumors about they're able to sell this delicate information to companies that are getting richer thanks to us, the people who is using Facebook with no earning unless you have 10k followers in your page to start monetization. That's a challenging number that few can reach in a brief frame of time.

D.tube vs YouTube:

The popular video platform of YouTube is requiring you to reach 1k followers to your channel (plus a considerable hourly time of your video's being played from others) in order to monetize your content, and over there is annoying to watch a video and then, suddenly, you must see few seconds of ads in every chunk by several times if that media is pretty long. And all of us know very well that YouTube is also living from promoters into the platform.

Curators are the ones that validates your uploaded files by voting in D.tube, just like in Steemit because this video platform is also developed in the steem blockchain. Think about once again the cons that the centralized Youtube is offering to the users in contrasting with D.Tube that is giving us the opportunity to obtain benefits from a good quality video we created with no need of too many followers and hours of content watching.

Brave vs Chrome:

A new and alternative way to navigate meanwhile you're earning cryptocurrencies by seeing advertising that is previously set by verified sellers into this amazing browser. At the moment is possible to transfer these earned tokens to an Uphold account (until you reach 25 BAT for verification). The Basic Attention Token is the crypto that is based in this platform where users are just consuming basic ad if they wish to see it (moreover of providing tips to the promoters), which is not as very invasive as in other sites.

In the Chrome browser I never happen to earn something in a certain way. Over here is working properly with the Google searcher which is having an algorithm that sorts the results of what we're finding out and that's it. And during our searching in their platform: didn't you get shock with a lot of sudden/unexpected advertising, according to our history of navigation? Definitely there's a great advantage led by Brave, of course.

I'm pretty sure that decentralized apps and websites will rule the future due to the practical addressing of user experience for a total control of their interactions and distribution of benefits between them instead of few central persons with an arbitrary opinion. There's always a present change and we ought to be prepared with open minds and willing to learn new upcoming things. Thanks for reading.

Hi @alegnita

Thanks for your Input in doing the homework task.

Feedback
As per the question, you were supposed to just focus on comparing one dapp and its counterpart centralized application.

Ooooooooppsss!!!! 😅😅😅 Really? Well, I got so inspired to talk about all apps I'm already using that I didn't take in count this little detail. It doesn't matter. These lectures are very useful and I'm still learning enough to have a great experience in the Crypto World. Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it. 😃 Regards from Latin America. #onepercent #venezuela #affable
