I think we should differentiate between contentment and happiness. You can consciously control what you generate satisfaction from. This is a learning process that continues throughout life. Happiness, on the other hand, is temporary and subjective. If you try to achieve it with the help of money, you will always fail.
Happiness is really subjective, this is a very realistically supported truth. There are some kind of psychological feelings we cant buy with money and it goes on forever. Satisfaction is ensured with what we feel to be completed with.
