CONTEST: "The Keyword of the Week" My hero RAJU

Today the hero of my story is not a war hero, a film hero or a superhero. Rather he is a 12-13 year old boy from a poor family of a backward village. Who saved the lives of hundreds of people with his wisdom, courage, valor and bravery.

The hero of this story Raju belongs to a small village of our country where only 15-20 families lived. He used to wake up every morning and study in the 4th class in his nearby school, and from there he used to come home in the afternoon, after which he used to take his 3-4 goats to the nearby fields for grazing.

To go to the fields he had to cross a railway line, and he came to know the timings of the trains passing from there. Every day 2 goods trains and 6 passenger trains used to pass from there on the up and down line.

Naxal gangs were active in that area and they would carry out any incident at any time. Acting against the government had become a game for them. For Naxals, human life had no value, they were only concerned about their own movement.

That day, when Raju was crossing the railway line, he saw that the sub-line track was divided into two pieces at one place. Perhaps the Naxals had uprooted the fish plate of that track.

At first, Raju was worried to see this because a passenger train used to pass on that line after about 2 hours. At that time, there was no young person in the village, everyone used to go to work in the fields.

Then Raju decided that he would do something, he ran back home and locked the goats back in the cage, then picked up a red cloth of his mother from inside the house and tied it on a stick like a flag.

When he reached the line, only 60 or 70 minutes were left for the train to reach there, but he started running in the middle of the line with a red flag and he covered a distance of about 10 kms by then the train whistle was heard, but he did not move from the line and started waving the flag fast.

The train drivers first thought that someone was playing a prank, but when Raju did not move even though the distance between the train and him was 400-500 meters, they applied brakes. And stopped the train and scolded him without asking anything.

But when Raju told the whole story, they were also shocked. By then, many passengers had also reached there due to the sudden stoppage of the train and after knowing the whole matter, they started getting scared.

But the loco drivers sent mechanics and repaired the line. And then everyone together lifted Raju on their shoulders and hailed him.

Within a few moments, Raju became the hero of the country due to his intelligence and his amazing courage. The Railways Department gave Raju a huge cash prize for his work, and the President of the country also honored him for his bravery in a ceremony, and issued an order to give him a job in the railways when he grows up.

And in this way, Raju became a hero of the whole country overnight. His stories started being told all over the country.
