On an island, four friends, Juan, Marta, Alejandro, and Laura, want to escape from nature. So they ventured out in search of a solitary and secluded place because their rural life had become overwhelming, and they sought peace. They left their lives behind, trying to find a new horizon filled with dreams and abundant life, embarking on their luck.

They discovered an island that filled them with mystery due to the legends of the area.

They arrived, and there were no inhabitants, no businesses, nothing but nature. They brought plenty of alcohol, cigarettes, and food to live alone for a while.

They explored the area, seeing plants and things they could take advantage of, but it didn't interest them. They brought civilization in their luggage. They gathered firewood, made a fire, and began to generate new topics from their lively interiors. Juan began to share that he always wanted friends to enjoy, and this was like a dream come true because he was an only child. Friendship was his only valuable resource since his parents didn't allow him to have friends, keeping him isolated and reserved. So, this opportunity was to discover what he would find in his companions to forge an unforgettable friendship.

Marta began to say that what she wanted most was to get to know the deepest aspects of people. She always moved in circles of very cold and apathetic people, and her shyness didn't allow her to find people who made her feel great and important. So, this encounter was an astonishing possibility. Being friends in a place where there would be no other people was something remarkable in her mind, like a fulfilled illusion.

Alejandro said his goal was to find God, as routine seemed to hinder thinking and kept him from concentrating on his pursuit of something as forgotten as God.

Laura, on the other hand, was the opposite; vices and women had made her life a disaster. That's why she wanted to distance herself to avoid these temptations and build a fortress that would allow her to explore other things without constantly focusing on sex. She discussed this with her psychoanalyst, and it seemed like an excellent opportunity. With these diverse friends, she could ground her sensations when dealing with the madness of the sexual machine.

At first, Juan, Marta, Alejandro, and Laura organized themselves and arranged all the resources, establishing rules for control and care of the place and things.

So, day by day, faces changed, and smiles began to appear, bringing life to the place. It seemed everyone was putting their best efforts, and it showed; conversations reached great heights and shone. They had all read a book on how to be perfect humans and realized they didn't need so many things. They began to see good things in their companions, and this led to only positive outcomes. After fifteen days, some discussions began about the rule to understand how to handle the wounds that arise during arguments. This led them to an ecstasy of satisfaction, giving them a thousand ideas on how to face society better. They realized they shouldn't expect others to be great but should set an example of greatness. This peaceful environment provided them with many opportunities to improve, and thus, their journey ended. More than a senseless journey, it left them as great beings who managed to change their reality. Upon returning and with time, success became their daily achievement in all situations they had to face. They planned to bring more people into this journey of desolation to discover the best of humanity.

Interesting... Do you think it was necessary to take "loads of cigarettes and alcohol" with you on this self-discovery trip...? That disturbs me a bit about the idea - it sounds as if the bad things from civilisation are being dragged into unspoilt nature.

Otherwise, the principle of a retreat or a hermitage is familiar and promising...
