"My first stage appearance"
Introduction
Hello
I'm happy about this contest organized by @dove11 and am excited to share my first stage memory with my friends here in Dream Steam.
As an actress and a presenter, i have several stage memories and would love to share my first stage news casting presentation with you all.
I could vividly remember my high school days when i was selected as the school news caster. I earlier applied for it, after examination and screening by the school management, i was selected to cast news in my school. It was a nice feat for me and i was glad about it. I was told by the school management to get prepared to cast news on the upcoming graduation party of my school.
I started rehearsing what i will do and how i would do it. As one of the bright students in my school, i wanted to bring out the best. Everybody including my teachers and classmates believed so much in me and this made me to put the best efforts in my preparation.
Days passed by and the graduation ceremony was at hand. I started having this fear in me. I was afraid of how to face the crowd and cast new for the first time.
My parents encouraged me. They got the attire i would use for the presentation and i was excited about it.
It was the D-day and everywhere was set. The ceremony kicked off and great fears overwhelmed me again. I did not know what to do. I have checked around and all i could see is thousands of people who came for the ceremony.
I told my friends about my new cloth that my parents got for me to use in the news casting. My friends were telling me they are already waiting for me to cast the news. They can't wait to also see me in my new attire. I was frightened seeing the way everybody is satisfied that i can do it. The crowd was much and my teeth were already jaming together.
I felt it could just be a school ceremony without the public being invited.
It was almost time and the MC announced that the person to cast news should get prepared as it was the next item on the list. I felt like disappearing from that place.
My Mum happily came out to help me get dressed. I just followed her as their was no option. I didn't want anyone notice what i was passing through. My teachers and everybody believed so much in me and i didn't want to fall their hands.
My heart beat increased, but i summoned up courage that i will not disappoint anybody including my Mum. Each time she smile at me and encouraged me, i receive hope to do it.
Finally, i was called to the stage. I took on bold steps to the stage and i refused to see the number of people who were eager to watch or see me.
I went straight to my studio and cast my news. People were clapping as i cast and it was enough motivation to be brave enough to keep going.
I cast my news very well and as i was coming out, teachers, parents, friends and well wishers followed me to congratulate me. They were so impressed with my performance.
My mother was so excited and I was so glad. The school management was so glad to receive such outstanding presentation from me. To them, they said my performance has raised the banner of the school higher. I was so glad. A presentation i almost opted out due to stage fright was the one i took courage, went there and performed very well.
I learnt my lesson from that day. The incidence pushed me to improve on public speaking and how to stand large audience.
I later joined a drama theatre where i act before big, small and large audience. This also help boost my confidence
Today, i can stand any crowd and perform very well. I have lost stage fright and i can address the public better.
I invite @enamul17 @dirapa and @rosselena to the contest.
Thanks for your experience in this contest. I understand your excitement when you do better than your own expectation. Thanks once again.
