You know I am from a small city in the Himalayas, and my engineer father wanted me to become an engineer, but I became an actor. I have been fond of films since my childhood.

  
There has always been a filmy atmosphere in our house. We used to watch a lot of movies, or, should I say, watching movies was the favorite hobby of my mom and dad. That's why, I have also been watching films since childhood, and then somewhere deep in the back of my mind I felt that I wanted to act.

My father always wanted me to become an engineer like him; however, when I went to Mumbai for further studies and stayed in a boarding house, I was inclined towards studies only. I agree I appeared in a slightly different style in my last two films, so the reason behind this was my desire to become an actor in films.

When I came to Mumbai, I had thought that I would become an engineer, but somewhere inside, the bug of acting kept stirring inside my mind. Then, I gradually moved on to the path of being an actor. My friends and I used to do theatre in college, and that's when the desire to become an actor took place in my mind.

In the beginning, I got an ad film with the help of my friend and earned about one thousand dollars for the first ad shoot, which was the beginning of my journey in the acting line.

One of my classmates was a part-time casting director, and I told him I wanted to do acting during a conversation. He said I must do a photo session and get my photo album. I did that, and I gave it to a number of coordinators. Meanwhile, he brought another ad film for me, for which I got three thousand dollars. It was a big deal for me at that time.

After this, calls kept coming for more auditions. Then I started getting calls for films, but film auditions and ad auditions were very different. Film acting was different, so first I did some acting courses and went to acting school, then I went to two or three more workshops, and finally I got small roles in a few films.

But then I made a mistake that I should not have made. I played a very bold character in my next few films. And what prompted me to do more such films was that the audience liked all my movies very much.

I now admit that I should not have done that type of movie. That was the wrong decision. That kind of film was not right for me. I was not even comfortable while doing it. I admit that the film was almost in the category of porn, and that was my mistake. I don't blame anyone else for this. I should not have said yes to that script, but now it is what it is.

Now I have done those films. That is my truth, and it has shown me down in society. All I can do now is accept my mistake and move on.
