CONTEST- Story7 : That Scary Night
Hello,
this is the continue of the story by @dove11
Tina walked faster and faster, scared and cold, every now and then she checked her cell phone but there was no signal in that area. She at least she was using it to get some light on herself. At one point she, distracted, tripped over a log and fell to the ground.
She was screaming in pain as Alex rushed to help her. She probably had her ankle broken and she couldn't walk anymore! What bad luck, that's all we needed. Maybe Tina was right, he shouldn't have taken that stupid shortcut!
Alex didn't know what to do, keep walking for help or stay to keep Tina company? She cried desperately. He couldn't leave her there, with the wolves howling, she was too exposed to danger.
So Alex decided to look for dry branches and make a fire with the lighter he had in his pocket. “Don't worry, he said to Tina, I'll make a fire now, so the animals won't get close and we won't be cold. We have to hold on for the night, everything will be easier tomorrow morning ”.
After making the fire, Alex took a branch, wrapped his shirt in it and set it on fire to create a torch which he handed to Tina. "Animals are afraid of fire, they won't get close, but in that case you will also have the torch, keep it in front of you and don't be afraid".
After reassuring Tina, Alex went back to the car to get some blankets he had in the trunk. So he walked back, he could see the firelight through the trees, but when he got there Tina was gone!
It's not possible, where did she go? Alex thought of the most terrible scenarios, maybe she had been attacked by wolves, but he hadn't heard screams. Then, he looked around, he didn't see Tina's purse or even the flashlight that he had prepared for her, so she had gone away alone?
He began to call out to her, moving far enough away from the fire to still have light available, but she didn't answer. He made himself another flashlight by tearing a piece of blanket to wrap it in a branch. But where was she? Wolves could be heard in the distance.
Alex started to get really worried. How could she have gotten so far with her broken ankle?
At one point he heard her voice “Alex come, look! There's a phone signal here!" Alex turned in the direction of her voice and saw the light of the torch on the ground, while Tina was holding her cell phone, ran towards her who was already talking on the phone with someone. “Yes come, thank you, you will find our car on the road and further down a fire, but we will try to get back to the car, please hurry”.
Tina ended the call and smiled at Alex. "My ankle doesn't hurt so much, maybe it isn't broken!"
Alex smiled back. “You scared me! I thought the wolves ate you!"
"That's what you get for not listening to me!" she said.
Meanwhile Tina's flashlight had gone out on the ground, so Alex gave her his and they slowly walked towards the car.
Tina held the flashlight in one hand while she held on to Alex with the other. The flashlight faded more and more, until they managed to catch a glimpse of the car, a few more trees and they would have come out of the woods.
The torch went out in Tina's hand, with a tense smile she said to Alex: "Just in time, the car is only a few steps away now". He watched her in the dark and could just glimpse her as he felt her hand squeeze his arm. "Don't worry, we've arrived".
Alex could see the roof of the car, but when they finally came out of the woods, they were faced with five large wolves snarling at them.
Tina dropped her dead torch to the ground. All rescuers could hear in the distance was their desperate screams while the wolves attacked them.
The End.
*I invented the story and translated from Italian helping me with Google translator, forgive my errors.
Thank you
You have a nice story idea but as you said the translator plays its own games and changes the concept to some extent. A great attempt 👍
Nice and surprisingly!
