The Ghost of the Fountain

On the first day of school, Jenny was very nervous, but she soon made friends with her new colleagues. She taught math and recently she had been forced to change cities, so she did everything she could to settle in and make new friends.

The first impact with the pupils seemed quite positive, she was a teacher who knew how to make herself loved! Although the subject of her has always been a bit tricky for some!

One day, at lunch with colleagues, she felt like taking a walk in the park in front of the school. But the others didn't want to follow her.

"We know you are new here so we want to warn you, don't go in the park, especially near the fountain."

"And why ever?" she asked.

"This school is very old and a century ago a pupil drowned. So every now and then you can see her ghost wandering around the park and then disappearing into the fountain, exactly where she died"

The colleagues' faces were serious, but Jenny burst out laughing. Her rational mind immediately thought of a joke from her colleagues, since she was just new.

"All right, as you like! I'll go for the walk by myself". And so she walked in the park, noticed the beautiful fountain full of sculptures, also took some photos with her smartphone and then went back to work.

It was a very busy day and when she got home she took a relaxing shower. She still had to unpack some boxes, but she was too tired, so she lay down on the sofa and decided to check the phone.

She remembered the photos she had taken at the park and started looking at them. Beautiful trees and flowers, she even managed to photograph some butterflies. And then the fountain, very elaborate, who knows what year it dates from, she thought. Then as she scrolled through the photos she noticed something among the photos.

A dark shape in the trees, it looked like a child running. And then another closer, yes they were photos of kids, but how strange that they were alone in the park without the teachers, usually they weren't allowed.

The last photo froze her blood. A little girl in a white dress in the fountain, she seemed to float on the water, her face was gray and her deep black eyes were looking at her.

Jenny shivered and woke up on the sofa. She had fallen asleep from her exhaustion. She was still holding the phone. Nervous looked at the photos, but there was nothing strange, just a nice park with a fountain ...
