BLOOD
blood is a combination of plasma and cells that circulate through the entire body. It is a specialised bodily fluid that supplies essential substances around the body such as sugar , oxygen's and hormones.
It also removes waste from the cells in the body.
BLOOD COMPONENTS.
1,THE PLASMA: plasma constitutes 55% of total blood volume.
2,white blood cells there are between 6,000 and 5000 white blood cells per cubic metre of the blood.
3, platelets or thrombocytes are smaller than the red and white blood cells.
4, The red blood cell.
COMPOSITION
blood is a fluid connective tissue composed of a 5% plasma and 45% formed elements including WBCS and RBCS.
FUNCTION OF THE BLOOD
Blood main function is to transport:
1,gas is namely oxygen and carbon dioxide between the lungs and the root of the body.
2,nutrients from the digestive tract and storage sites to the rest of the body.
3,waste products to be detoxified or removed by the liver and
kidney.
4, hormones from the glands in which they are produced to target.
5, heat to the skin so as to help regulate the body temperature.
