In the heat of summer, palm juice is especially important to keep the mind fresh, cool and sleepy.
Turning to the ground, it can be seen that Ramzan Ali Gazi of Baliadanga village in Kaliganj of the district has been collecting palm juice from 8/10 palm trees for the last few days and selling it at the side of the road at Tk 5 per glass. He said that he is earning 400-500 tk every day.

After meeting the local demand by collecting molasses from palm juice, they are sold in different parts of the country. The juice is collected from the palm tree in three steps every morning, noon and afternoon. In addition, a small part of the honeycomb or khadi of the palm tree has to be cut off while getting the shots (juice containers) in the palm tree. A palm tree that does not hold a palm tree is called a braided palm tree. Usually sap is collected from both the jata tree and the palm tree. Talking to more than one tree about this issue, they said that the hotter it is, the more juice the palm tree will have. They also said that they sell palm juice every day at Dudalia, Raipur and Faridpur intersections. While talking to Habibur Rahman Gachhi on the side of the road in Abhaytala village, some youths stopped their motorcycles and drank palm juice. When asked about their expression, they said that the palm juice here is free from adulteration, fresh, sweet and delicious.

"At the beginning of the summer, I clean 9 palm trees and prepare them for juice collection," he said. At present more or less juice is available from 9 trees. About 3 to 4 liters of juice per day is obtained from each palm tree. I sell juice at Rs. 5 per glass in Kaliakapur market every afternoon and evening. Every day I sell juice for around 1200 to 1500 rupees.
But we make molasses with night palm juice. Mosharraf Hossain, chairman of Krishnangar Union Parishad No. 1, said that despite the fame of palm juice in this area at one time, the tradition of palm juice and molasses has been lost in the evolution of time. Even a few years ago, there were numerous palm trees on both sides of the road, beside the isles of different fields in the area. Although the palm tree is neglected throughout the year, the value increases in the summer season as well. Palm juice is very popular among the people because it is delicious and beneficial to the human body.
