Intelligence Quotient is a test so to say that an individual undergo to have a measure of his intelligence. It was first invented in the early 1904s by a French psychologist named Alfred Binet, the test was originally meant by Alfred to have an idea of the extent intelligence for Children but was later on used also for adult, I said to have an idea cause Alfred Binet had a theory that intelligence is a complex that cannot be measured by a single test. But in the era we are now I believe personally that an IQ test goes no where close to measuring the actual intellect of an individual.

But if you score below average does that mean you are not intelligent?
Personally I dont think so, In 2019 we had our cousin who was a First class 400 level Vet medicine student take the IQ test in front of us and got an average score, to be honest I was disappointed to some extent at first ccause he was the smartest person I look up to, later on I got to discover that one test cannot determine the extent of ones intelligence there is the every day factor that should be considered choices we make l,mistakes etc.
Imagine if the early men took such a test i am pretty sure if there is a minus some of the would find thier selves there. Intelligence to me is more than just book know-hows or ability to identify patterns,read and write it goes way beyond that, it goes even to an extent of the little choices we make like what to eat for breakfast what shoe to wear for a walk the little things.
Alfred Binet himself said an individual's Intelligence cannot be determined by a particular test so if you took an IQ test and got way below average that doesn't really mean you are not smart though its a common misconception but its better to be realistic about this things as one can get depressed of feel sad cause his test result is low.
