Melatonin and Covid-19

Health tip: Do you buy drugs from chemists/pharmaceutical shops without a laboratory diagnosis and doctor's prescription?.

Its been 12 months since the beginning of the covid 19 infection.
The deadly viral disease originated from China where it connected and killed millions of people through respiratory distress.
By March 2020 this virus spread to the US and major European countries with Italy as the hardest hit.
From the onset of the pandemic, many scientists have made heavy claims for a cure.
Amongst the first trials was the HIV/AIDS antiretroviral drug. Some doctors claimed it was efficient in the treatment of their patients, unfortunately this was not generalised, as most patient died even after receiving the drug.
Other Claims
Some other claims and trials came afterwards, from remdesivir to dexamethasone....
The later was so effective that it received endorsement from the WHO as a drug for managing patients with the virus.
Although Others claimed Chloroquine, a baned malaria drug in combination to some other drugs was effective, this was never approved by the WHO.
As at the time of writing this article, the only approved solution to the Covid virus is a vaccine produced and distributed by pfiyzer and some other biotech companies.

  The Research 

A team of researchers at the University of Toronto in Canada has found that melatonin can be an adjuvant to augment the efficacy of the current vaccines against the virus.
In their study they confirmed that melatonin may regulate viral infection including covid 19 by effectively binding and the consequential inhibition of calmodulin, a substance which regulates the surface expression and retention of ACE2 in the membrane of the lung cells.
Since covid virus enters the lungs through the ACE2 receptors, their inhibition will prevent infection of the host.

Health Tip: Antibiotics are life savers but when abused the cease to work! When you take antibiotics indiscriminately, without a lab result or prescription, you end up exposing the bacteria in your body to drugs that have little effect on it... The end result is mutation!! When these bacteria mutate, no drug can eliminate them again, leaving you vulnerable to them...
