Environmental pollution may be viewed as something wrong in the wrong place in the wrong time and in the wrong quantity. The environment is considered polluted when it is altered in composition or condition directly or indirectly as a result of the activities of man so that it becomes less suitable in it's natural state.
Therefore, environmental pollution is defined as the addition of materials or energy to the environment that damage it, making it unfit for life and other purposes.
The substances that cause pollution are called pollutants. Environmental pollution may be divided into three broad categories: water pollution, air pollution and soil/ land pollution.

WHAT IS WATER POLLUTION.

The water we drink, our streams, lakes and rivers can often be polluted through the activities of man and other factors in the environment.

Water pollution is defined as a natural or induced change in the quantity of the water which renders it unsuitable or dangerous. When water contains undesirable substances or impurities, it affects the health of both plants and animals. These undesirable substances or impurities which pollute water are known as water pollutants.

Examples of water pollutants include: chemicals, micro_ organisms, domestic, industrial wasted and man made organic materials.

Numerous agents are responsible for water pollution.
Among these include domestic, industrial, fertilizer, insecticides, oil spillage etc.

(1) DOMESTIC SOURCES: these include wastes from kitchens, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and mortuaries, and mortuaries, laundries, sinks and toilet, bathtubs and animal dung. These pollutants find their way into water surface where they are channel or naturally washed by flood.

(2) INDUSTRIAL SOURCES: Some Industries or factories discharge their waste products directly into the water. These waste products are either solid, liquid or gases. often, these wastes contain toxic or hazardous substances, which are harmful to both human and aquatic life.

(3) AIR SOURCES: Cement dust, dust from querries, blowing dust, pollens and terpene from plants can be blown by air or wind into flowing.

Nice article keep it up

Environmental and water pollution is very important course to learn as we have been eroded by that in our contemporary.

Very good.... Keep being good
