Hello everyone, I'm Dr. Lott from Acupuncture Is My Life. This past week has been crazy on the acupuncture is my life app with regard to hidden symptoms of COVID-19. So many people were concerned about brain fog and how it had become a persistent symptom for some after having been infected by the coronavirus. There's no history on the effects of this virus whereas we're discovering new realities regarding COVID-19 every day making it impossible to investigate the long-term effects of this virus.

I've come across research indicating that upwards of 40 percent of coronavirus patients experienced various neurological symptoms such as conscious disturbance, confusion, and nerve damage, as well as strokes in young patients. There are ACE-2 receptors which the virus attaches to once it's entered the body, other than the lungs. These receptors can also be found in your nervous system as well as your skeletal muscles. This is why many experiences long-term neurological as well as muscular symptoms long after having purportedly recovered from the virus. The brain is also affected via the nose, blood circulation as well as a super aggressive immune response to this virus. The more severe the response to having been infected, the more likely one may develop some sought of the neurological disorder as a result...also when immune cells are activated in the brain, inflammation usually follows possibly resulting in some form of brain damage. There have been individuals who've experienced memory loss, difficulty focusing, inability to concentrate, and of course brain fog.

In regards to how this is related to acupuncture, I can only respond with my interpretation of all of this from a position as a doctor of acupuncture and that is "mind obstructed". I've recently diagnosed what was to be considered recovered COVID-19 patients as mind obstructed..which is the mind having been obstructed by stagnant qi or blood stasis. I knew I had to open the orifices, resolve the phlegm, and calm the mind by placing heavy emphasis on treating their stomach channel as well as their large intestine, and pericardium channels. But in the case of Qi stagnation, I simply moved Qi and calmed the mind by needling certain points on their liver, large intestine, pericardium, Gall bladder, and san jiao channels as well as their governing vessel. These patients fared very well as a result of receiving acupuncture treatments along with continued visits to their neurologists. there have been cases in which doctors have had a hard time determining whether the cause of some neurological symptoms was as a result of the virus or hospitalization.

I'll recommend to you this...if you were to ever after having been infected by this virus, find yourself experiencing a gradual or significant change in your mood or the way you think, consult with your primary care physician right away. Now don't forget to go to the google play store to download the acupuncture is my life app, as well as subscribe to this channel to learn more about acupuncture, eastern nutrition, Chinese herbs, and plant enzymes.

Until next time, Acupuncture Is My Life...what's yours?
