What is the name of the traditional game you selected? In your own words, explain how to play.

In my tradition, there have been fun games that have been passed on to generations. Today I played some games with the children which are

Ncho
This game is a between two players. Each player has control over each side, having 6 small holes on a curved wood box, each containing four pellets directly opposite one another. Before the game begins, players choose their holes and mark their territories. The objective is to carefully pick pellets from their chosen holes and redistribute them until each hole contains four pellets once again. The game continues in turns, requiring players to think fast and smartly about how to win and own their opponent's territory by collecting the most pellets.

Playing Ncho game

Ikpo uga
This game involves using your feet while clapping your hands in a way that corresponds with the rhythm of your movements. It requires two or
more players in the game. The game is similar to rock, paper, and scissors; this game involves physical activity as we move our feet and movement of the body; it is fun and also helps improve coordination and rhythm among the players.

Ndoro ndoro
This game is satisfying and requires strength where you pull a rope with your opponent on the other side. It can be done by single opponents or in groups, and a line is marked in the centre to determine who can successfully draw the other across to their side. It is similar to tug of war

What are your rules? Did you make any changes to the rules to suit you?

I made the rules of the game known to the children; for the Ncho game, whoever loses all the pellets in the holes in his territory is out of the game. For the Ikpo Uga game, if you did not get a corresponding feet sign with the lead player for three consecutive times, you are out of the game, and for the Ndoro Ndoro game, if your opponent pulls you to his or her side, you lose. Additionally, No cheating, and when you lose, you step aside to let others continue. I adjusted the game time to suit the children's speed as they were a bit slow.

Of the characteristics of traditional games that we have discussed, which ones do you think are present in the traditional game you chose?

The traditional game we chose has almost all the characteristics discussed. There's no doubt we mads the right choices. The game can be played anytime and anywhere; they involve movement and often include words like the Ikpo uga that we move our body, clap our hands and say some words.
The games had simple rules that the children understood easily. There was no need for complicated material, all we needed for the Ndoro ndoro was just a rope and the Ncho was just the curved wood box and pellets, which almost every household has and the games develop skills just like the Ncho that develop a mathematical skill as it is known as the game of intellectual.

Did the kids have fun? Share your experience playing this traditional game with them. Feel free to tell us about the best moments you experienced during the activity.

It was such a fun-filled game, the children and i had a blast playing and moving around. At one point, one of the kids started to feel a bit down because he was losing. I tried encouraging him to cheer up and remindes him of his wins in the game and told him that losing was all just part of the game. That seemed to lift his spirits and he was happily back in the game, having a great time with everybody.

The children are happy every time we engage in our activities; they always show they have matching energy for every game and their laughter is infectious. Their eagerness for more is obvious, as they request additional time. They also express thankfullness for the variety I bring to each experience, expecting the creative new activities that I introduce. Seeing their excitement and curiosity inspires me to have more activity times with them.
