The Nigeria I want to see in the Future
Nigeria is my country and am proud to be a Nigerian. As a good citizen I must pray and wish my country well.
As I sat today, I began to imagine how the country is. And I began to think positively about my country. Though it is Adults that dream and the youths sees vision, I had to metamorphose myself into adulthood whereby I start dreaming about the country.
I dream of a Nigerian with capable leaders who have good intention for the country. I dream of leaders who are ready to serve the nation, not their family members and friends only. I dream of leaders that will not embezzle public funds and keep them in foreign banks. I dream of leaders who place the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians ahead of their personal interests. I dream of leaders who say no to corruption, stealing and favouritism.
I dream of Nigeria with great men like Chief Obanfemi Awolowo, Doctor Nnamdi Azikwe, Chief Anthony Enahoro and Chief Gani Fawehinmi. I want to see men like Chinua Achebe, Madam Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa and Abraham Lincoln of America.
I dream of a Nigeria with sound and affordable healthcare services. I dream of a Nigeria where people will not be dying of preventable and treatable diseases like malaria and typhoid fever. I long for a Nigeria where there will not be police brutality or military oppression. I want a Nigeria where the views of the ordinary man count. I dream of a Nigeria where freedom of expression is guaranteed.
The Nigeria am dreaming of is full of positivity, that's why everyone must arise and stand for what is right. Unlike Akwa Ibom we have arise to the faith of greatness likewise others states should arise accordingly for an uncommon transformation. I pledge to Nigeria my country, to be faithful, loyal and honest, so help me God .
