Hello guys, it's yet another week of the steemit engagement challenge, the week1 was good even though we hard small network issues but i bless God for the success of last week.today I will be participating in the contest organized by the @Urdu-community on the topic language.

What is meant by language? Define language in your own words.
Language is the primary source of communication in the world,it is the method in which we share our thoughts, ideas with one another throug symbols, written and spoken.and it is the most important aspect in the life of all human being.

Language can be define as the system of communication which consists of grammar, written, symbols and set of sounds used by people of a particular region, states or countries for the purpose of writing and talking. Language is often used by different people to express the inner thought and emotions, through human communication depending on the use of words in the conventional or the structure.
Language can also be seen as the physical, verbal, basic form of communication and they are arbitrary because of the rules combination of signs in order to produce complete thought.
There are thousands of language in the world, and every country have it's own National language which everyone living in that country understand in addition to the local language spoken by their people in different region. Some of the language are spoken by millions of people and some are spoken by just few people.and most people do say that the difference between humans and animals are the language we speak.
Characteristics of language
There are numerous characteristics of language among which are;
- language is Arbitrary
- language is a human and structurally complex
- language is also creative and productive
- language is systematic because, it's enable humans to combine symbols words, phrases and sound.
- language is duality and is also a Social tool
- language also have rules and it is non-instinctive conventional
Importance of language
- It allows us to express our feelings and needs
- it allows us to interact in social setting
- It allows us to learn from each other
- It also allows us to gain more information about their world
- It help us to resolved conflict
- it help us to communicate with others, and also to learn skills.

The connection of an individual to it's society is very tight, because language has so many function in the society, and the society also have many function as that of the language

The two can not exist without each other because if one is not existing that is to say the other will be affected.
Language is not only used for communication or to exchange information as is generally assumed, but it is sometimes used to fulfill important social function in other to maintain social relationship between people.

Users of the same language in a Sense all speak differently because the kind of language each of them chooses to use is in part determined by his social background or family.
To family language is very important, because it make communication more easier for both the parents and their children.
Which is yours mother tongue? and which languages are spoken and understood in your home other than your mother tongue?

My mother tongue is (kaka) language. Kara language is one of the languages in sarduana local government area of Taraba State. And the other language i understand very well are;
- hausa language
- fulani language
- Kambu language
- English language
How many languages do you know and how did you learn more than one language?
I know four languages apart from my mother's tongue they are;
- English language: English is actually a national language in Nigeria and I learned how to speak English right from home.
- Mummuye language: I learned mummuye language because my mum worked in their land for more than ten years, and i did my primary and secondary school in one of there villages called zing local government area, so anytime the people are speaking their language i always pay more attention to it that was how i learned the language.
- Hausa language: hausa is commonly known as a general language in the northern part of Nigeria, most people speak it frequently. We where also thought in class because it was one of the subject i offered during my secondary school days.
- Fulani language: Fulani's language is also common in my hometown because we live together with them in the same area. Learning it their language was not too difficult for me since everyone around me speaks it.
In which language did you study in school to university and which language do you prefer in the education system in your country and why?
I studied in English language from my secondary school to my university days.
In Education system i prefer English language because it is the best for me.
How one language or more than one languages plays an important role in the development of society.?
Learning more than one language actually it's very important in development of the society because, when you speak others Language, communication will not be that difficult and also there won't be much fight among the people since they understand and speak with each other. For instance in Nigeria if you can speak the three ethnic languages which are hausa, Yoroba and Igbo, getting job will not be too hard for you in any part of the country Nigeria because you will be able to communicate with others without much stress.
How does culture relate to language?

Culture relate with language in numerous ways which includes:
- The language used by the speech community is closely related to the culture of that community, so without our capacity for complex language, human culture as we know it could not exist.
- Age, gender and economic status may influence how people use languages.and there communication is what is mostly meaningful to them, because it's largely defined by their own culture.
- Language is the symbols of culture and personal identify, also culture defines language while language shapes culture.
- Language is seen as a medium through which individuals transmit culture from generation to generation.
- language help to communicate with people in different backgrounds
Would you like to prefer writing in your own language at the time of writing posting on steemit, if yes why and if not why not?
Yes i will like to write with my own language (kaka) because i understand it very well and i can write fluently without making much mistake.and i know writing with my language here in steemit will make people to know about my language worldwide.
If you want to promote your language in the world, how will you do it? and if you already done, then how much success have you achieved?
Promoting my language to the world won't be to hard for me to do, because i speak my language very well, and if i want to promote it, i will first of write an article about it,and share it to the people, or better still organized a class for who ever is willing and ready to learn. Then I will provide a language translation application which will enable every user to translate the language in such a way he or she will understand.
In conclusion language is very important to everyone one, because it is the simplest way of communicating with each other, without language i don't think we can communicate with each other and also learn new things.

Communication in one's language no matter where one finds him/herself is very good. It does not only make you sell your language to people, it also helps you to have a secret conversation when a stranger is around, basically for security purpose.
