Hello everyone! I was waiting eagerly for the Season 2 of Steemit Engagement Challenge and Now, It has started. So I am going to do my first post in this community. The post is about steemit is better than other social media platforms.

As we all know that social media platforms are websites and applications which allows the users to make content and share it with different peoples. In today's world, each and every person use social media platforms for spending their time and staying connected with our friends and family.

I use many different social media platforms like Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook. But among these, the social media which I use the most in my day is Instagram.

We all are familiar with Instagram. It is a free social network platform in which people from all over the world can share their posts. It allows the people to edit, create and upload photos and videos. With every upload, users can add caption and also use hastags and locations by which others can find the location of that place.

We can also like, comment and bookmark other person's posts. We can send private messages to anyone. We can share photos on many other social media sites like facebook and twitter.

Users can also post a story if they do not want to do permanent post and show it temporarily. The story disappears in 24 hours. I mostly post a story rather than a community post. Also there is a chat button by which users do not need any other app for chatting.

Benefits of Using Instagram

• Privacy: Users can have the feature to make their account private by which people cannot see their posts unless they follow them. I always make my account private and this is very useful feature for me.

• Business Purpose: Instagram is not only useful for sharing posts. We can also use it for business purpose as it offers to open a business account for companies to promote their products.

• Audio and Video calls: Instagram has a feature of doing both audio and video calls by which I can communicate face to face with those who are far away from me and I cannot meet them regularly.

• Filters: There are many different types of filters in instagram which users can use in making reels and also in video calls to make the environment funny which I like the most.

Well, I really think that spending time of Steemit platform rather than spending on any other social media platform is more beneficial. The spending of time on steemit helps us to earn money and it contributes in our life's growth.

On steemit, we can write articles and for that we get curation. There are a huge number of topics available on steemit on which we can write articles. We get a large amount of knowledge about from this platform. Like other social media apps, we can also chat here with anyone we want.

I joined the steemit platform in 2020 and still I am enjoying doing work on this. At that time I did not have any work and also there was the corona pandemic. I got the work on steemit which helped me so much in that situation.

As every thing has both positve and negative sides. I am giving the advantages and disadvantages to compare the differences of steemit to other social media platforms.

ADVANTAGES

● Decentralized Platform
The steemit platform is decentralized and it is the only Decentralized platform which gives us money by writing articles. The platform does not charge any money for its use. I had a lot of problems imrrlated to money is 2020 and then i joined steemit which has provided me enough money for my expenses.

On the other hand, there is no money provided for users for posting to other social media platforms and some of the things they provide are paid.

● Provides Knowledge
Steemit is a platform where users get so much knowledge and information along with money. There are many quality articles by which we gain knowledge. This is not available in other social media platforms as they are only used for time pass and entertainment.

● No abusement
The steemit platform never encourages anyone to spread hate. On steemit, any type of abusement is restricted. If any user abuse or post insulting article about anyone then he/she gets banned. On the other hand, if we see on other social media platforms, they have many users who do abusive or insulting comments on other's posts.

● Crypto Knowledge
By steemit, we can learn a lot about cryptocurrency and trading in a totally free manner which is again beneficial in earning more money. I really did not know anything about cryptocurrency before I joined steemit. Now I have a good knowledge of that.

DISADVANTAGES

● No Guarantee of votes
In the Steemit platform, votes are not quaranteed. We have to write very long articles of around 700 - 800 words and then we get money. If the users are failed to do so, then rewards will not get added.

● Long Keys
The private and public keys of each user are very long and they are impossible to remember which makes it difficult for users to keep safe in any place providing a fear of getting the keys lost which we cannot get back again one lost. This problem is not with other platforms as we can get a new password if we lost it.

● No Mobile Application
Steemit does not have any mobile application and it only has a website which makes it sometimes slower and less comfortable to use.
