The above structure is known as the Akwa Ibom state e-Library, centre of educational resources. It is located in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The Ibom e-Library is a 5 storey building that is supported by internet access that covers 5 kilometers radius real time and has over 70,000 subscription for electronic materials. It also has an in built smart class and language learning center. The library also has children galley and reading areas and also provides each user with automated card for access. It was built 7 years ago by the then Governor to help place the people of Akwa Ibom State on an educational advantaged level among its peers.
The e-Library can be said to be the backbone of the educational, recreational and informational activities in the State and also the bedrock of academic development in the state. The impact of this e leaning centre to the educational growth of the students in the state is overwhelming because it lays foundation in the minds of the young ones.
The e-Library helps in supporting the curricular and satisfy the information needs of students at any academic level. The resources that can be found here are majorly books and audiovisuals.
WHY I LIKE THE IBOM E-LIBRARY
One of the major reasons why I like the Ibom e-Library is that the environment is a serene one void of noises and other external stuffs that can disrupt reading and concentration. Some importance of this library includes;
- It is a building legacy for the future.
- Grants access to materials easily.
- Saves space and cost of buying those materials
- A simpler data recovery.
- An uplifted measure of decision.
E-Libraries offer access to various substances with a conceivably endless number of assets and determinations close by. The e-Library will however improve visibility and access to resources and also serve as a guide to parents and guardians who may want to use the opportunity in training their pupils and children at home.
