Better known as May flower or National Flower of Venezuela 🇻🇪

This beautiful Orchid along with the turpial and the Araguaney are part of our national symbols. Curiously, it is called Flor de Mayo because its flowers were used to adorn the May Cross in the Venezuelan Catholic tradition.

Investigating a little more about this beautiful plant I could see that in the Wikipedia Portal this species is marked as Vulnerable species, however they do not offer much information about it. By analogy I interpret that it may be due to the deforestation of its habitat and even the indiscriminate commercialization of the flower. Since it is exotic, it is very attractive to collectors of ornamental plants and even to florists.

I believe that the prosecution service for the protection of environmental rights should regulate and monitor more of this type of activity, not only because it is a national symbol but also because it preserves the environment and takes better care of the natural reserves of our beautiful nation.

Cattleya mossiae

It is an orchid species native to Venezuela as I have repeatedly mentioned is the national flower of Venezuela since May 23, 1951, This Exotica orchid is distributed mainly in the states of Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, Yaracuy, Lara Portuguesa and in the entire Andean area.

The Take:

For the shot as I already mentioned, use the branches and leaves of other plants to give a 100% natural appearance to the composition using the rule of thirds and focusing on the main object.
