Language is a method of communication used to communicate with each other. Communication languages ​​vary from country to country and from nation to nation, and a language that can be understood is used in communication. The importance of having a language is that everyone can use a common medium to exchange information.

Thus it is very important to have a language that everyone can understand in communication. For example, since English is an international language, people in all countries know English. Therefore, a well-known language such as English plays an important role in communicating with people living in any country.

So isn't this the significance of a language? Different languages ​​have been emerged to facilitate human communication.

How language connects an individual to his family,glob or specific socieity.

As I mentioned above, language is important in the exchange of information between people. So we become accustomed to sharing information with another person through a language we know. But most importantly, the person we communicate with must also know the language we speak. Or the other person may not understand what we are saying.

Everyone in the family and community communicates using their mother tongue because they are all from their own country. Family and society need language to communicate like this.

My mother tongue is Sinhala. Although Sinhala is not a well-known language, anyone who knows Sinhala can learn any other language and pronounce words in another language very well. The main reason I say this is because of the unique letters in the Sinhala language that have given this specialty to my mother tongue.

There are 60 letters in the sinhala language and the 60 letters are divided into two main parts vowel and consonant letters which are also subdivided into sub-parts. Sri Lanka is the only country where sinhala is the mother tongue. Also, Sinhala is spoken only by Sri Lankans. Apart from sinhala, the other language we use at home is English. We will have to use the English language in reading and learning.

I know two other languages ​​besides my mother tongue which are Tamil and English. But I know the Tamil language to some extent. It is because I learned Tamil during my school days that I know the Tamil language to some extent. As for English, I have learned English through courses and in school.

In which language did you study in school to university and which language do you prefer in the education system in your country and why?

I was educated in my mother tongue sinhala. Since sinhala is the official language, most schools in our country provide education in sinhala. But there are also schools in our country that provide education in Tamil and English. And University education is provided in English.

I would like to take a professional course in English in the educational system of our country. Because English is an international language, the acceptance of courses taken in English is high.

Language plays an important role in the development of a society. If there are people who can handle language well because it requires language in speech among people, it will lead to the development of the society. And if we can use more than one language, it will be easier to communicate with a large number of people. For example, it would be very helpful if we know the language of a traveler coming to his country from another country.

Every country and nation has its own unique culture. Culture represents the beliefs, clothing, food, style, and festivals of each nation. So language is used to present things like this. For example, there are various books on the religious beliefs of people. So these books are written in a native language of their countries.

I have already stated that language is important not only in writing but also in speaking. So this is how culture and language relate.

I really like to write articles I post in steemit in my native language. But I use English because only people in my country can understand my mother tongue.
