نوروز کو موسم بہار کے آغاز سے مناسبت حاصل ہے موسم بہار کا آغاز جب ہوتا تو کسان اور دوسرے لوگ شہروں کو چھوڑ کر باہر کھلی جگہ اکھٹے ہوتے اور جشن مناتے تھے کسان اس میں خاص طور پر اپنا کردار ادا کرتے یہ روایت ایران کے کسانوں نے صدیوں پہلے ڈالی اور آہستہ آہستہ یہ مکمل طور پر ایرانی جشن میں تبدیل ہو گیا اور پھر حکومت نے بھی اسے رسمی تقریب میں شامل کر لیا .
ایران کے مشہور دانشور ابوریحانی کے نزدیک نوروز خلقت کی پیدائش کا جشن ہے جو لوگوں کو اس بات پر تیار کرتا ہے پرانی چیزوں کو نئی چیزوں سے تبدیل کر کے اپنی زندگی کو تازہ کریں نوروز کی تاریخ پیدائش کا تو صیح معلوم نہیں بہرحال تاریخ دان یہ لکھتے ہیں کہ ایران میں اسکا آغاز پانچ سو اڑتیس قبل مسیح میں ہے .
اور بخامنشی بادشاہ نے اپنے دور میں اسے باقاعدہ طور پر قومی جشن قرار دیا
ایران میں اسلام کے آنے ، ایرانیوں کے مسلمان ہونے اور ساسانیوں کے برسراقتدار آنے کے بعد عید نوروز وسیع پیما نے پر منایا جانے لگا
منجمین کے ماہرین نے نوروز کو بہار کا پہلا دن اور فروردین کی پہلی تاریخ قرار دیا ہے اور کلینڈر کو اسکے مطابق مرتب کیا
نوروز کے بارے میں نوروز نامہ معتبر کتاب ہے جسے حکیم عمر خیام نیشا پوری سن چار سو شمسی بمطابق گیارہ سو اکیس میں لکھا ہے.
دنیا میں منائے جانے والے چند بڑے مزہبی اور سماجی تہواروں میں سے ایک نوروز ہے دنیا کے جن ممالک میں نوروز منایا جاتا ہے ان میں ایران افغانستان بھارت ایراق کرغستان آزربھائی جان روس تاجکستان ازبکستان اور ملک اللہ داد پاکستان شامل ہیں
مختلف لوگ مختلف تہوار منانے کے متعلق مختلف رائے رکھتے ہیں میری اتنی رائے ہے کہ تہوار خوشیاں دیتے ہیں خوشیوں کا کوئی دین دھرم نہیں ہوتا
