Language is a way of communication for both adults and children, it can be talking or by sign, we have human language and animal language, in all it helps one to communicate with each other and there are thousands of languages today, country, states, Community and family languages, all serve the same purpose, Communication.

Let me use my family as an example of how language connects family, in my family there is one language we learned from our mother, she speaks this language each time she is back from market, immediately she entered the compound she will speak it and we know that she is back and if she add another one on it, we will know that she is with a visitor, it becomes our family language, we added so many to it that it is only members of our family understand it.

When it comes to the globe, I believe that english and American sign language is the language that connects everyone together no matter your country.

My mother tongue is Igbo language and I learn it from infancy, it is the language everyone in my family speaks to communicate with one another, but my children have also learn Ibibio and Efik language, sometimes they community with it.

I know how to speak Igbo language very well, in Igbo there is a Community known as Ohaji LGA in Imo State, they have their own language, I know how to speak it very well because my father lived there and I went to primary school and also worked there for many years so I can speak till now, I also know how to speak Efik because I am living in Akwa Ibom State for 11 years now, I also know how to speak English , i learn it from school. I studied English in school and when it come to the language i will prefer to be used in school, i believe English should be the best since everyone could learn mother tongue in the house.

Well when it comes to culture, it is your language that will different you from the other person, for example in Nigeria, ones you talk, other Nigerians can easily mention your tribe to show that language and culture relates.

I will not like to write with my language because the whole world that are on steemit do not understand Igbo language so I will love to write in a language everyone will understand which is English, for example, if all the post on steemit is written in spanish, i @ijeladu will not understand it.

If you are to promote your language, how will you do it and what success do you think you will have

The truth is that I have not started to promote my language to the whole world and am not ready to do so since I know that at the end it will be wasting of effort, the reason is that the whole world already have their own mother tongue or their own language and we all are trying hard to learn English so as to communicate with those that do not know our language so it will not be wise spending time and money to promote my language to the whole world.
