Travel for work

Today’s travel took me to Hilo International Airport and my trip home to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. I am an essential worker, traveling to remote locations in my multiple island home called Hawai’i. The Coronovavirus or COVID-19 virus has lead to the closing of many businesses by the government and the loss of billions in tourism dollars, plus lost wages. It is uniformly accepted as the price we pay to protect our Kapuna our elderly people and our Keiki* children. Plus our vulnerable people.

This splendid view of the mountain rising above the clouds into the heavens is awe inspiring and it fills your soul with joy. The world is filled with such beauty and wonder.

Beautiful coastline

The coastline of Hawaii island looks beautiful from the day. The fluffy white clouds take on many shapes.

I flew Hawaiian Airlines It features planes decorated with beautiful Wahine (woman in Hawaiian language)The planes are painted with pretty flowers and the side image of a woman. The seats are a cute turqoise blue.

The airport was filled with many planes waiting for the return of tourist to Hawaii

Tourism is a huge industry in Hawaii. But we have few hospitals, so our government shut it down.

I wear a mask and comply with social distancing rules. I actually think it’s pretty safe to fly inter island because so few people are traveling. The prices are great too. A $200.00 flight costs only $100.00 now.
