[MY LOCAL NEWS] - East Aceh District, Indonesia - Provision of BLT Economic Assistance to The Poor from The Government.

Good morning Steemians friends. How are you all today. On Friday, March 18, 2022, I covered the distribution of BLT (Direct Cash Assistance) cash assistance to the poor in Pante Bidari District, East Aceh Regency, right in Gampong Seunebok Saboh Village, Buket Kareng Region. The location of this village is a bit far from the City, the road to get there is also damaged and has holes. But I also arrived at the location on time. It takes about 2 hours to get there from Idi Rayeuk City. Around 14.30 PM we arrived at the village, because the distribution of BLT assistance will take place around 15.00 PM in the village.

There are many poor people in this village as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. During the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia, many people lost their jobs because they could not carry out their usual activities, due to a ban from the Government that limited people's activities, so that many people lost their jobs and their economic income decreased drastically, and this is happening nationally in Indonesia. Since the Covid-19 incident, the Government of Indonesia has reduced assistance to the Poor in Villages with Cash Assistance of Rp. 300,000 every month for one poor family, elderly and people who are chronically ill.

This BLT money assistance has existed since the Covid 19 epidemic disaster in 2020 ago, so the Indonesian Government issued a policy to provide community economic assistance to poor families, elderly families, and people who are chronically ill affected by Covid-19. Also for workers who get Termination of Employment or layoffs from the company they work as a result of the reduction in workforce due to Covid 19. The total allocation of BLT assistance should not be more than 40% of the ceiling value of the Village Fund allocation provided by the Government which can be distributed to the community who entitled to this BLT assistance. Meanwhile 60% of the Village Fund is used to finance Village Development and operational activities of the Village Government. Every realization of the budget spent must be accounted for by the Village Government.

The distribution of direct cash assistance from the 2022 Village Fund in Gampong Seunebok Saboh Village was given to 84 poor beneficiary families. One poor family gets Rp. 300,000 every month. And the distribution of direct assistance for 3 months, January, February and March. So that each poor family gets an amount of Rp. 900,000 for 3 Months. The ceremony for the distribution of BLT assistance was also attended by the Camat as head of the Pante Bidari sub-district government, the Police represented by the Polsek, the Security from the TNI, represented by the Koramil, the Village Ministry, represented by Experts from East Aceh Regency, Village Heads and Government Staff. The village was also attended by local community leaders and village assistants to supervise the distribution of BLT assistance in this village.

The recipients of BLT assistance have been selected by the Village Government and have been determined in the Village Deliberation (MD) to select the poor who are entitled to receive BLT money in accordance with the criteria set by the rules from the Government. It's now March, so 3 months can be distributed directly for each KPM with the details being, BLT in January is IDR 300,000, BLT in February is IDR 300,000, and BLT in March is IDR 300,000. So that each family will get Rp. 900,000. The total amount of BLT assistance distributed to 84 poor families was IDR 75.6 million or Seventy Five Million Six Hundred Thousand Rupiah. The poor are very happy to get this BLT money, they will continue to get BLT money every 3 months until December 2022. This BLT distribution activity was completed around 17.00 PM.
