GOOD AND BAD LEADERSHIP

Good day my follow steemians today i will love to write on the topic Good and bad leadership,but first of all what is leadership. Leadership is the art of guiding, commanding and leading other people to achieve set goals. It is the position of a leader which empowers him or her to direct the actions of people under him,in order to achieve an agreed goal.

Good leadership
Good leadership is an act where a leader leads his subjects or followers without prejudice and selfish consideration. It is the form of leadership which gives followers peace of mind and Sense of belonging.

Come to think of it,must of us we are leaders in our various locality,how do you treat your subjects or followers.

Qualities of a good leader

• A good leader is selfless when it comes to serving his or her people
• A good leader sacrifices his or her time , pleasure and wealth when the need arises.
• A good leader leads by example. He or she is a role model.
• A good leader is willing to pay the supreme price i.e to die for his followers on a noble cause.
• A good leader applies sanctions. He or she reward hard-working subjects and punishes bad followers
• A good leader works to leave good legacies. He or she strives to achieve the goals set by the people.
• A good leader respects the popular mandate and opinions of the people.
• A good leader does not engage in or encourage corruption of any kinds, immortal life, injustice and favouritism.
  WHILE
  BAD LEADERSHIP
  Bad leadership is experience when a leader allows his followers to suffer. At any time a leader engages in corruption, unfair treatment of the people,care-free attitude towards the people's wellbeing, inflicting injury and pain on the lives of the followers,he or she remain partial and self-centred. Bad leadership can cause a lot of problem for the people.

Some of these problem are:

• Dissatisfaction among followers:when a leader becomes selfish, wicked and unmindful of the wellbeing of his or her followers the people will become dissatisfied. To show dissatisfaction, people or citizens complain, engage in strives, demonstration, riots and criticisms.

• ***Destruction of lives and property: The activities of bad leaders can cause destruction of lives and property. When citizens of a country take to the streets to carry out a protest March or demonstration,it turns into a riots sometimes and get out of control. Shops may be looted and government property maybe destruct by the rioters. The police may use teargas or even shoot people causing the death of some innocent people. Some of bold and fearless educated citizens who confront or fiercely criticise bad leaders are often assassinated, kidnapped or arrested and mercilessly tortured in police custody

• Poor health facilities:Bad leaders play or joke with the health of their citizens. Hospital workers are usually on strike due to unpaid salaries and lack of equipment. In some cases, health services are very expressive to afford, hospitals are very far away from the poor masses, while drugs are in short supply,due to little budgetary allocation to the health sector.

• Feeling of insecurity
  Bad leadership breeds criminals. This causes a feeling of social insecurity among the people. Criminals elements often engage law enforcement agents in fierce battle. With the support of bad leaders these criminals obtain sophisticated fight weapons and guns. This increase tension and insecurity. This can cause increase in crimes as some unemployed youths takes to crimes. Innocent people become victims of the activities of these hoodlums.
