Today, Wednesday, 19 May 2021, two friends and I made a medium-distance trip to the Gayo Highlands for business purposes.

The journey from where we live to our destination can be taken within 2 to 3 hours, depending on natural conditions and the level of traffic density.

We departed at 10 am, on this trip we chose an alternative route via Jalan Elak, to then take the Bener Meriah / Central Aceh Route by passing Mount Salak.

Because the holiday is over, people have also returned to work and activities as usual, the streets today feel more relaxed, different from during free day or the holiday season, the streets are crowded with piles of vehicles which result in long traffic jams, today the roads are quiet, we managed to travel from Geudong City to Takengon City in 2.5 hours.

After all matters related to work followed by the lunch event are over, we take the time to take advantage of the remaining time to visit one of the most popular tourist destinations, especially for local coffee and cigar lovers, namely the Indonesian Coffee Gallery located in Kayu Kul, Pegasing - Central Aceh.

The cool air typical of the mountains immediately felt as soon as we stepped foot on this tourist location, the smell of Arabica coffee smelled arousing, accompanied by the smell of dry tobacco from one of the buildings used as a local cigar production site, with the main raw material of high quality tobacco harvested from the garden with a certain height above sea level

After buying some of the best cigars, we headed straight to one of the gazebos to rest while enjoying a cup of coffee.

The coffee we chose today is Yellow Wine Coffee, this type of coffee is the result of fermentation from the best Arabica coffee beans that have been selected since the time of harvest.

Enjoying sip after sip of coffee accompanied by the harsh of tobacco smoke from a cigar is a new sensation for us, the taste is truly extraordinary

After two hours of being here, we decided to immediately return to our hometown before the afternoon, we chose the same route, we traveled home for 3 hours, in addition to vehicles that we no longer race at high speed, we also had time to stop at some point to buy souvenirs.

That is our journey today, hopefully it can be an inspiration.
