POPDA XVII Bireuen Contingent Departs for East Aceh.
The Bireuen contingent who will take part in the 17th Regional Student Sports Week (Popda) in Idi, East Aceh, Wednesday, 3/7/2024, was released by the Acting Regent of Bireuen, Aulia Sofyan, PhD in the Meuligoe yard of the Regent of Bireuen.
Head of the Bireuen Youth, Sports and Tourism Service (Disporapar), M Al-Muttaqin, SPd, MPd, said that the total number of Popda Bireuen athletes, coaches and officials who went to Idi, East Aceh was 126 people.
Consisting of 83 athletes, 66 men and 17 women, plus 27 coaches and 16 officials.
The athletes consisted of three-person athletics, badminton (3), table tennis (4), tennis (2), petanque (2), taekwondo (7), and karate (6).
Next, kempo (5), pencak silat (6), boxing (2), archery (6), football (18), volleyball (10), and basketball (9).
They will take part in 14 sports and their home base is at SDN 3 Idi. Bireuen's presence at the Popda event seeks to improve rankings with the mainstay branch of football, including all other branches.
Acting Regent of Bireuen, Aulia Sofyan, in front of athletes, coaches, officials, elements of Forkopimda, a number of service heads and other guests, said that athletes should be able to excel and please maintain their attitude and manners because they carry the name of the region and must maintain the good name of the region.
