Planet Positives: Helping The Youth Clean The Sea

As a teacher how do we introduce our children in helping the environment clean? Well for me I involve them in to activities that will encourage them to help keep our environment a better place to live in.

When children learn to appreciate the world from a young age, they are more likely to help protect our land for future generations to come. As a second parent I wanted to be the one to introduce it to them. Generating a passion for the protecting planet early on makes a big difference in influencing children’s future-environmentally friendly habits.

Parents can also take a number of steps to help their children to learn about the world and caring for our environment. At home they should already learn the sense of responsibility.

Today I will be sharing a coastal clean up that me and some youth were a part of.

We met up in one of the famous tourist spot in Lapu-lapu City, Mactan Shrine. Ever since I am a lover of the sea and it hurts me to know that our nature is slowly deteriorating.

I took this photo in one of the public beach here in Cebu. It was so polluted. I imagined how can we enjoy the beach if it is this dirty. One reason for this are those people living in the coastal areas. They usually throw their garbages in the sea.

Though the heat of the sun was slowing us from picking the garbage the kids still had so much energy and tried to fill the entire sack of garbage.

Teaching them to love nature and learn to take care of our environment is such an achievement. I know in this way I am not helping their future but also letting them be responsible. In this way they will treasure this experience and maybe teach their family and younger brother or sister to take care of our sea.

Living in an Island most of our livelihood and source of income is from the sea. If we do not take care of it then later it will be worthless.

Let us teach our Youth to take care of what we have right now so that the future generation can still enjoy natures beauty.
