Bireuen Regency Government Presents Awards to BPBD North Aceh and Pidie Jaya, Also to Journalists.

The Bireuen Regency Government (Pemkab) handed over the award to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD)
North Aceh and Pidie Jaya Regencies and a journalist.

The award was presented during the 105th anniversary of the Fire and Rescue Department in the courtyard of the Bireuen Regent's Hall, Wednesday (8/5/2024).

This award was presented by the Acting Regent of Bireuen, Aulia Sofyan, PhD, who acted as inspector of this ceremony.

This ceremony was also attended by Forkopimda officials, assistants, expert staff and SKPK heads within the Bireuen Regency Government. The award was handed over to BPBD North Aceh and Pidie Jaya for their participation in helping extinguish fires in Bireuen Regency.

As is known, Bireuen is a district that emerged from North Aceh in October 1999. To the east of Bireuen, namely Gandapura District, is directly adjacent to Muara Batu District, North Aceh.

As for Pidie Jaya, the district borders Samalanga which is the westernmost sub-district of Bireuen Regency.

Another person who received an award on that occasion was Rahmat Hidayat, a journalist for his participation in covering and disseminating fire information in the Bireuen Regency area.

The Acting Regent of Bireuen, Aulia Sofyan, PhD, in her speech said that the 105th anniversary of the Fire and Rescue Department in 2024 today is expected to continue together to continue the fighting spirit, dedication and service.

In protecting the community, as well as the determination to continue to increase independence and professionalism in order to provide the best service to the entire community.

"We cannot deny that there are still many parties who do not fully understand that the job of firefighters and rescuers is not just to put out fires when a fire occurs.

"But more than that, fire and rescue officers must be able to ensure the suitability of a building to overcome the risk of fire, and be able to map fire-prone areas," said Aulia Sofyan.

Aulia Sofyan added that firefighters, in the concept applied internationally, also play an important role in handling every emergency incident.

"We must continue to encourage these important tasks to create professionalism and independence for officers to provide services based on minimum service standards (SPM)," said Aulia Sofyan.
